First Pamela and Bryan are just outstanding host!! The home is what i call period driven.
My wife and I loved it! Even room was fantastic and when you see them you will understand our excitement. Almost a good were the 3 course breakfast that were served every morning on the deck. The offer early tea and coffee at 7 am and breakfast from 8 to 9 am. The B&B is located just at the end of town and easy to travel to the rest the area.

Room Tip: They have a few rooms with a deck off them. Worth investigating...

The Kingsleigh Inn is one of the best small inns we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail-room layout, extras (port and truffles in the room, delicious afternoon cookies and tea breads, a small refrigerator for guest use, walking sticks, etc.), and in the creative, bountiful, and delicious breakfasts-earn them a top rating. The Inn is located on the Main Street, which gets a fair amount of traffic; however the soundproofing of the building is excellent. If you like to sleep with an open window you should keep the traffic noise in mind and aim for the back of the building. The Inn is conveniently located right in the village and within an easy walk to the harbor, shops, and restaurants. One alert: don't use the Inn's kitchen, which is located right at the main entry. We were scolded for using their microwave. That little oops doesn't detract from our high marks for the Inn and the congenial owners!

The rooms are wonderful and there is an exquisite 3-course breakfasts every morning. Pamela and Bryan are wonderful people who take excellent care of everyone. The home was built in 1904 and though freshly decorated and updated (tastefully) with air conditioning in each room, it still retains the feel and charm of the early 20th century. Beautifully decorated, but still cozy and relaxed. My wife and I spent 5 nights here in August of 2017 and we can't wait to visit again!

We stayed in the Abbott room which is on the second floor and has a deck facing the harbor. The room is also on the Main Street side of the house so there was some road noise, but not much. The room is well insulated with new windows, and there's even a noise machine in case it's too quiet for you. Amazing details are cared for like robes, slippers, cold water bottles for your trips into the park, and numerous guides to the trails of the park for hiking and biking, as well as local restaurant menus, etc. Their website provides as much information as you wish to consume and the pictures are excellent representations of the inn. (If anything, the photos may not do justice to how fresh and bright everything is.)

Southwest Harbor is on the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island but still allows for easy access to Acadia National Forest and Bar Harbor. One thing to keep in mind: we kept hearing and reading from multiple sources that every place on the island can be accessed from any point in 20 minutes. I'm sure that's generally true, but it took a little longer to get to some places for us because it was the busy season (July and August). And allow more time if you're route includes Park Loop Rd.: It has few entry/exit points and generally has a 25-35 mph speed limit. .

Downtown Southwest Harbor is quaint, but it has a wonderful assortment of restaurants that will keep you well fed and plenty of shops - from hand-made crafts from Maine up to a wonderful jewelry shop. And all of this is within easy walking distance of the Inn. Enjoy your visit!

This is among the very best B&Bs that my wife and I have ever stayed at. Who ever heard of a 5 course breakfast at a B&B? At the Kingsleigh Inn it is served every morning, and every morning it is scrumptiously different. This morning our breakfast dessert was a home-made mini banana split! And every afternoon there is a social hour which includes free wine, edibles and of course wonderful conversation with the other guests. Pamela and Bryan are wonderful hosts. They are warm, outgoing, welcoming and work hard to make your visit a memorable one. My wife and I have just returned home after our first visit to the inn and have already made a reservation for a longer visit next summer. Our whole experience made us really want to return.

My daughter and I were looking for a quiet & comfortable place to stay with easy access to Acadia National park and area hiking trails, as well as shopping in Bar Harbor, and of course lobster! The Kingsleigh Inn fit the bill perfectly. The room was cozy with an updated bathroom and temperature control, and the veranda was a wonderful place for breakfast or just relaxing with a good book. And speaking of breakfast - wow! We had a choice each day of 2 amazing entrees, which were accompanied by a first course (beverage) and dessert! Hosts Pamela and Bryan took care of our every need, and provided coffee/treats all day and a 5pm happy hour with wine and apps! They also posted weather and tide information each day, which was a very nice touch. The town of Southwest Harbor is small but has a good share of restaurants and shops, and it is a close drive to all attractions on Mt. Desert Island. We were very happy with this location and will definitely return to the Kingsleigh Inn!

Room Tip: perfect for adult guests looking for quiet comfort
