In this part of the Maine woods, Northern Aroostook County, everything is relaxed. Tucked away and off the beaten track is this wonderful little place to have a fine dinner in a very homey atmosphere or go downstairs to the pub and enjoy pizza and cold beer. My wife and I enjoyed the eclectic ambiance and casual dining. If you're in a hurry...go to McDonalds....Please. With appetizer, main course, and desert our stay was slightly over two hours. That to me is the way to enjoy a meal. Eureka has a wonderful diversified menu and exquisitely prepared entrees at very reasonable prices.

Thursday through Sunday, this has been the only place to eat out for miles around. For that reason, we seemed to overlook it weaknesses. But food was always interesting and good.

Since our last visit about two years ago, the tavern decor is much improved. Comfortable seating includes tables, booths and a longer bar with cushioned stools.

Also, service was better than ever. There were two fellas taking care of tables. No wait to place order and food arrived quickly.

Had the pleasure of dinning at Eureka Hall in Stockholm ME to be entertained and fed the most delicious Lobster rolls in all of Maine. Great Beer selection as well and attentive staff. They went out of their way to please us as late arrivals after the Arootsakoostik Festival. I would highly recommend a visit stay a while you may catch some great local talent as well.

This quaint little town holds a rare gem for what it's area has to offer. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and very dynamic. You have the option of having a quite, more sophisticated atmosphere in the main dining hall upstairs. Spacious enough for bigger parties of 6 or 8 but still has cozy little nooks for a party of 1 or 2. The menu is everything you could dream of. Mostly local and organic select ingredients is what sets these meals apart from most places in the area. You can actually TASTE the difference. The downstairs Tavern provides a lively and fun environment with live local talents such as Strings of Calamity, Dominic and Lucid and the Suitcase Junket: all with a very folk and bluegrass feel. The Tavern has its own menu with more causal choices like burgers and pizza, but still with quality ingredients, providing the collision of familiar with cultivated. They are super about accommodating to food allergies and can provide a complete selection of gluten-free options with just a prior phone call. The wait staff was so pleasant, and the owners are kind. They are always looking to better their food and service; something I find appealing in the restaurant world.

Although I have not eaten there recently, I have dined there many times. Food quality and service match or exceed Portland and Boston restaurants at 1/3 of the cost. You can order anything on the menu and it will be done right. Save room for the desserts. Enjoy.
