I went to Wake-N Bakery today for lunch a/k/a "Jack's Place". It was a Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm and I was the only customer in the restaurant.. After being seated the server came around eventually to take my order, I chose the Salmon Burger on the "Specials" white board. Five minutes later the server returned and told me they were out of this special. So why didn't they take it off the board? Hmmmm! I opted instead for a chicken salad sandwich, After the order was made and delivered the waitress disappeared into the kitchen within an ear shot of where I was seated. She proceeded to "diss" on several customers she had waited on earlier that day. In the meantime my food was served without silverware or a napkin; I was never asked if I wanted some water. I did. I got my own along with a fork and knife and found a nakin too. At noi time did the server check on my as I ate my meal which consisted og soggy, tasteless fries and a sandwich that was bland at best. After I finished the meal I had to hunt the server down to get a check. At the time it was presented, in a friendly manner, I told the server that I had to get my own silverware, napkin and water and her response was "Sorry, we were slammed earlier", My reply, "Well you're not slammed no - there's no excuse", The server became defensive. I paid my bill and when she returned with my change said, in a rather sarcastic tone, "Have a nice day". As someone who works in a restaurant I can say with authority that the service (or lack thereof) I received was totally unacceptable. The food, Well, I wont be back any time soon and suggest if you are driving down Route 302 and hungry that you definitely pass on stopping at "Jack's Place"!
