Occupying 3 full floors of a massive old bank building in historic Ellicott City, The Vintage Vault and Gallery is literally packed floor to ceiling with a fabulous selection of vintage dresses, sweaters, slacks, gowns, nightgowns, outerwear, shoes, purses, hats and accessories for women, men and children. But cool clothing is just the tip of the treasure trove iceberg. Collectors of retro jewelry will find case after case of rhinestone, bakelite and tribal inspired earrings, bracelets, rings, necklaces and brooches. Antique jewelry lovers will be delighted by a nice selection of cameos and other Victorian and Edwardian era ornaments. The latest addition to their offerings is an incredible collection of hand crafted bracelets "up-cycled" from old bronze cash registers, Victorian oil lamp fittings, vintage machine name plates, cymbals, old traffic signs, old coins and more. They also have a section of men's leather bracelets. A back room features vintage kitchen accessories, dishes, serving pieces and more. And this is just the first floor! A flight of stairs takes you to a mezzanine overlooking the first floor. Here you'll discover a wide range of collectibles, art and home decor items. But wait, there's more. The third floor houses a huge light-filled art gallery primarily featuring paintings in a broad range of styles. In addition to being a gallery this inviting space is also available for rent as a venue for meetings, parties, and receptions. Until just recently this building was closed to the public and used for offices. Thankfully it has reopened as this wonderful shop where you can enjoy the architecture and views of the Tiber River as much as its amazing inventory. Block out at least an hour an a half to browse and explore every nook and cranny!
