First off, I didn't plan to stay at RIOC as long as I did... but had to, due to an unexpected housing situation that took me by surprise. Needless to say, I wasn't particularly happy when I checked in, but they had a room in my price range and were close by.
I spend so much time in hotels that I am an "Elite" member at multiple competing chains/brands. I am always looking for the best value with a nice experience, and was pleasantly surprised as I settled into my room.
I stayed a LOT longer than expected, I loved it so much. RIOC is *now* my favorite place in Ocean City, and I've stayed at more than 10 properties over the last 2 years!
The front desk staff is helpful, friendly, and efficient. The view is awesome. The gym, and pool are nice, clean, and were frequented by me, too. The breakfast crew made my day, every day... because in addition to a great spread that's fresh and of better quality than the other places I've stayed with similar amenities in this price range, the staff was kind, helpful, and full of great ideas on ways to make the most of one's stay in OC... even when it's cold and rainy outside. They were genuinely nice people who provided awesome service - even during the busy hours when people were trying to get food at the last minute. Finally, the Bayside bar and grille were the icing on the cake... as the food, drinks, and bartenders are GREAT! So... kudos to the Residence Inn, in Ocean City!
