DoubleTree in Danvers is 25 minutes away from both Salem and Boston, and the promise of a water park and arcade sealed the deal. We arrived in uncharacteristically freezing April weather, and were told the room would be just another hour wait (at 1:30 PM, not totally unexpected). We ate at the Tradewinds restaurant, just steps away from the check-in desk, and received incredible service (being the only family eating at the time). The hostess even took some time to get a quick Tae Kwon Do lesson from my daughter! The room was ready exactly an hour later, and although room 544 was a bit of a walk from the lobby, it was a short elevator ride directly down to the Coco Key resort, pool, and arcade. Coco Key was packed, as you would expect in April Vacation, but we waited patiently and rode the lazy river, racing each other and having a ball. Great Wolf lodge has a larger indoor water park, but this one didn't disappoint, and we had access to a full size pool as well, which Great Wolf doesn't have. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were like sleeping on quiet, puffy clouds. The TV was the largest I've ever seen in a hotel room, and the DirecTV channel lineup was impressive. Breakfast was pricey but delicious. The only thing I could find lacking in the whole experience was the arcade: just one employee was running the whole chaotic place, many machines weren't working, and several of them took 6-8 credits (including an 8-credit claw machine, a fact which we only discovered after blowing $10 in under a minute). If they could fix these issues, I would have rated the stay 5 stars: we had a great stay, and barely felt the need to leave this elegant, fun hotel.

The good thing was the water resort. But I was definitely expecting more for the price I paid for a weekend getaway. I got some kind of rash because the pool water and also there were a lot of noise from the room next door.

centerpieces were left in Roberts office without any attention, no American flag on the premises, no one technical AV wise after 5:00pm, no call back from housekeeping yet, called engineering multiple times for air circulation

We couldn’t find anything in the Boston area due to weather cancelling flights. Luckily, we stumbled on the Doubletree. It was a little pricey but provided a place to sleep. The rooms were nice. Staff was very friendly.

The hotel was very nice, but very crowded. Rooms were quite comfy and breakfast was good. Staff was very helpful and the waterpark was lots of fun. Would definitely do it again. The restaurant could use a better and more affordable menu though.
