Bev and I have been going to Sam & Joe's for 38 years. Back when Sam and Joe were the bartenders. They opened this "Family Italian Restaurant" in 1956. Now, the "kids" and "grand kids" are continuing the excellent traditions of great food, great service and a family friendly atmosphere. Huge menu but usually I go for the pepperoni pizza, well done. Stop by when you are in the Danversport area. It is 5 minutes from Liberty Tree Mall.

I stopped here again after always having a great dining experience. I was in a hurry so ordered two of their thin crust pizzas to go. As always the food was well prepared and the pizza was made to order perfectly. They have a great menu but if you are in the Danvers area and looking for top quality thin crust, stop by Sams and Joes, you wont be disappointed.

First off I hate when I look at my old reviews and see simple spelling errors but anyways we had a good time at Sam and Joes. It was Sat night and very busy. I am not sure they were prepared for the crowd. There was a wait, there were empty tables but not enough staff. In addition, they ran out of bread which if one of my favorite things. The veal was excellent as were the meatballs and pizza. Unfortunately the alfredo sauce was very watery and not that good, my daughter was disappointed with it. We will return as we like most things here and enjoy it here.

When we are in town Sam & Joe's is at the top of our list for pizza. Many reviews and items on the extensive menu come close to changing our mind, but pizza is a must. Our waitress Kara was a fun gal. She served us twice. We feel right at home there, every time. You will not be disappointed. Place hasn't changed from years ago. Always a good sign. Service is great. Pizza is the best!

Went for dinner the other evening. We found a space in the smallish parking lot and were seated by a very nice lady. Kara came over with a smile and a super personality, asked about beverages and answered a couple of questions on the menu. My wife ordered chicken mac and cheese. I ordered the fried clam plate, they substituted onion rings for french fries.

I had fried clams a few weeks ago at Woodman's in Essex. There was no comparison.
Sam and Joe's was 25 minutes closer, there was no wait, We had table service, it was far less expensive, the clams were bigger, there were more clams, they tasted better and were far less greasy. Also the onion rings were the best I have ever had.

My wife's dinner was good as well.

The only reason I give it 4 and 3/4 is that I never give a 5. Nothing is perfect.
