There is a wonderful little restaurant called Ristorante Tre Puzazzi in Rome, Italy, that is our benchmark for Italian cuisine. Let me state unequivocally that Daniella's comes closer to this touchstone than any other place to date. Constant Companion and I arrived for lunch on a recent Thursday. The parking lot was completely full but fortunately another diner was just exiting. We were welcomed and offered several places to eat both inside and outdoors. We prefered inside. CC ordered a glass of excellent La Crema Chardonnay($6.00) and I chose a large(22 oz) Peroni draft($5.90). CC opted for Bolognese with home made rigotoni($17.94) while I selected a cup of Pasta Fagioli($4.00) and the Orecchiette with hot sausage and broccoli rabe($14.95).While we waited our server, Michelle, brought us some excellent, crusty Italian bread also made in house with some very good EVO. CC raved about her Bolognese. She let me taste it and it was excellent. My Pasta Fagioli was easily the best I have ever had and a steal at that price. My entree was a perfect balance of heat with the tartness of the the rabe. Everything was professionally prepared and our server, Michelle, was attentive and knowledgeable able to time everything well. She is EXCELLENT!! Total bill including a second glass of wine was just $63.98 including tax but without tip!
