The Inn on the Square has been high on our list for awhile. Once we settled in, staff gave us great directions and restaurant ideas. Due to weather, walking was the way to go. Old down town was close and the older homes were great to see. Room was very nice. A restaurant is attached if you did not feel like a walk or a drive to eat. Can’t wait to return!

Inn on the Square (IOTS) is literally almost in the middle of the road, Route 28 that is. This is not a high-end hotel, nor is it an inexpensive establishment. Again, the middle of the road metaphor seems appropriate. Our second floor (sorry, no elevator) room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean too and provided with lots of wash cloths, face towels and thick bath towels - all these amenities made our three night stay very enjoyable. Our room did not face the road though we had not requested it. We will be sure to make such a request in the future. Like perhaps many guests of IOTS, the proximity of the hotel to the Steamship Authority shuttle to the Woods Hole ferry terminal was the main reason for us deciding to stay at this hotel. This, along with great restaurants nearby means we hope to be staying here in future visits to Cape Cod.

Room Tip: Try to select rooms that don't face Route 28 if at all possible.

Overall we had a nice stay here. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of counter space. Very convenient and within walking distance to Main St in Falmouth.

My complaint would be to avoid a room overlooking Route 28 if possible. The traffic noise was very noticeable, especially with the trucks headed to Woods Hole beginning around 4:30 AM and then the buses starting around 6:30. Also, the people in the room next to us were not loud...just having a normal conversation...but we could here just about every word. The walls must be very thin in this place.

I would like to stay here again when I'm in Falmouth...I just hope we can get a room in the back and not on the road.

We did not try the on-site restaurant, but it looked nice and had a large breakfast menu.

The Inn is very pleasant, clean and the staff were very helpful when we checked in. They informed us we had a nice room in the cottage, which is a separate building next door but one to the main Inn. Our room was at the front of the building, overlooking the main road. The noise from the traffic kept us awake much of the night. We learnt that the trucks like to get an early start to line up for the ferries and stopped to turn down the road right under our window.
On the plus side the Inn is in a great location for walking into and around this wonderful town. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Percy's Place, attached to the Inn. If we stay again, though, we would definitely ask for a room at the back.

We were a Grandma and 2 preteen Grandsons for a Springtime birthday visit. Excellent rate for a Saturday night ..Sarah at the front desk was wonderful and gave us a room close to the pool and away from couples and allowed for late check out. Wonderful cozy beds for exhausted boys ...loved loved the pool ..It was 83 degrees and warm and very clean. Checked it Sunday morning at 6:30 am on the way for my coffee and was crystal clear, towels all clean and fresh and no smell of chlorine.....and I know pools. Well taken care of. Beds were super comfortable ...and so very hard to find, windows that open fully for fresh air.....turn the heat/air off completely and enjoy the fresh cool seaside air .....I bring grandchildren every year in the Spring...French bakery for breakfast, hike to the Knob and bike the Shining Sea bike path....This is just the perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: our room was in the back near the pool, birdsong in the morning, didn't hear a sound at night
