First off, the people, servers are all really nice and accommodating. But, the room we got at the very last minute was not the best. There was a rumble from the kitchen vent under us that doesn't stop until the kitchen closes at about 9pm. So if you want to get in early, it's not such a good idea. There was also a smell in the room of some kind of chemical. The manage and owner attributed it to some stairs being painted but I could not smell what they were talking about. My guess was that it came from the kitchen. It was a propane burning smell. The room and the bathroom were outdated. Like really outdated. But here's the thing. The place was clean, inexpensive, and eating and hanging on the porch was awesome. The actual house is great. The coffee in the main hall is awesome, the people are really nice, and they even offered money off, and gave us a complimentary breakfast, which was amazing. They did all they could to make me happy, and that's what really matters. Now, what the other rooms are like, I can't tell you, but people love this place and you have to trust these reviews in totality not just my isolated experience. So the next time you're in Gloucester, book this place! And get a front room. For the price you won't be disappointed.
