My girlfriend and i saw this place while walking in Main Street and decided to give it a shot. We were greeted by a friendly bartender named Karen. We ask her to make us her specialty drink and she recommended the strawberry mojito which was great. We started with the homemade guacamole and was great from there we had the churrasco alo pobre and was outstanding we would definitely go back next time we're in Hyannis. She made Us feel like family.

I thought "fusion" meant a chef blended influences from two different cultures into a new style. At Casa Peru, it means having separate Mexican and Peruvian dishes on the menu. We ordered all Mexican on our visit.

The defining characteristic of Mexican food is flavor. The food we were served at Casa Peru was not very flavorful.

We ordered from the prix fix menu. The margaritas tasted like they were made from a bottled mix. The fish taco smelled fishy, indicating more age than one would want. The fish was breaded and fried, like fish and chips. It was crunchy but tasteless. The paltry veggies and sauce in the taco were also bland.

The salad was on a bed of iceberg lettuce, with the standard old-time vegetables and some generic dressing.

Chicken mole sauce tasted okay, but was not the right consistency, like it hadn't been cooked down enough. The pork in the carnitas was salty and flavorful, mainly because of the grease in port shoulder. But the rice and beans were flavor-free.

Service was friendly and attentive, but they had plenty of time to sit and chat. The place was mostly empty at 7:00 on a Wednesday evening in July. Other restaurants on Main street were hopping.

My bet is this place won't survive the winter.

Went when it first opened and had an excellent dinner. Tried mole sauce first before ordering pollo mole. It was wonderful and very authentic.

Our second visit with friends was a disappointment. Mole sauce tho well flavored was very thin and chicken was over cooked.

At this point would think twice about returning. Sad

My wife and I had the $25 prefix. Great food, excellent service, a great deal. Everything was excellent: the guacamole, the chicken tortilla soup, Mexican street corn, and the carnitas were fabulous. Highly recommend.

Always having had a winning meal at Tumi, we were eager to try this "sister" restaurant. The lack of curb appeal is more than made up for by the charming interior decor. The tables and booths are situated comfortably apart. The mood is very festive. The menu is a blend of some expected Mexican choices(tacos, enchiladas), Peruvian staples(roasted chicken marinated in beer) and dishes combining elements of both cuisines. We can vouch for the fresh, nicely seasoned Mexican street corn, short rib taco, chicken with mole sauce and fried ice cream. All were part of the prim fixe menu which, also, included the house margarita for $25! Our waitress was very helpful in detailing the ingredients and preparation in response to our questions.
