I stayed 2 nights and as gold club member had access to the concierge lounge. I must say that as a business traveller who frequently uses the Marriott concierge lounge I found the Peabody lounge disappointing. For breakfast they do not serve bacon. I asked the attendant during my first morning breakfast if the sausage would be replaced with bacon the next morning. She said that they have served only sausage for the past 14 years and do not serve bacon in the lounge. Every other Marriott lounge that I have frequented always served bacon as one of their hot items for breakfast. Why can't the Peabody follow this standard? Juice was only accessible by looking in the undercountedr fridge and pulling out one of the large plastic jugs. Then you have to look for the glasses also hidden away in an undercounter cabinet. This is not the case at other Marriott lounges. All others I have been to have glass pitchers with two different juices on the counter with glasses nearby. Both nights the evening snack was nachos and salsa. Surely they could come up with a different snack item each night, be more creative and look at improving the quality. On the first evening the hot item was a very low quality quesadilla which ran out quickly and was not replaced. On the second night the hot item was a low quality rice and mixed vegetable dish. Needless to say I was disappointed with these two hot items as other lounges have served very good quality hot items and kept them fully replenished. Dessert each evening was served in tiny ramikens and also very low end quality. Other Marriotts offer full cakes, or pies, cookies etc. of high quality. Overall I am very disappointed with this lounge. To me the gold club lounge generally is used by business clientele who expect high quality, alternatives day to day, great service and bacon for their breakfast. It appears that this hotel is looking to keep cost and quality low in their lounge. How do they expect their gold club members to feel about this type of product and service? If I were not a gold club member and got it for free, I would not pay extra for a room with Concierge lounge access. Come on Marriott, I know you can do better than this.
