We saw all of the lighthouses when we were on Nantucket and this was, to me, the most beautiful one. Beautiful views as far as you can see that make for some great pictures!

We were on an Island tour and this lighthouse was one of the stops. It is located quite a ways from downtown Nantucket. We were there in Early May, so the daffodils were still in bloom. My wife loves lighthouses and getting a picture with flowers added to her enjoyment.

As part of a local tour we were able to stop at the Sankaty Lighthouse! its very picturesque, BUT it is a 9 mile trip from the harbor to this lighthouse (An easy lighthouse to visit) there is no beach nearby so be warned-

Stopped by the Sankaty on a whim - it was a foggy fall day and the light was aglow. It was very beautiful. Wish we could have climbed to the top.

Travelling to this point on the island by bicycle was a treat. We rode past gorgeous homes right along the coast. The Beach is suffering severe erosion and all efforts are being made to maintain it as is. The history of this coastline and the Lighthouse are amazing, filled with harsh conditions and intrepid settlers. Come to the lighthouse here and imagine living with your family/children out on this point, far from the rest of the community.
