Dinner at the Williamsville Inn is a true experience. The food is outstanding- Chef Erhardt is amazingly talented. There is a German influence in the menu, but there are many other choices. I enjoyed the sea bass. What makes the evening an experience is the beautiful, relaxed, unhurried atmosphere. There is a gracious space between the tables so you can converse in private. The staff is professional and attentive. You will enjoy!

What a find in West Stockbridge! We could not disagree more with the previous reviewer....accessible fine dining in the heart of the Berkshires, beautifully appointed dining room with white table cloths and fresh flowers, a menu lovingly created by Chef Erhard. A reprieve from the helter skelter of many Berkshire restaurants at high season, the Williamsville Inn is Wendt family owned and they attend to every detail. The dinner menu is innovative with a touch of their German heritage. The country pate is so good, you are entitled to break your diet...(also sold at an up-scale gourmet food store in Barrington). Everything is made from scratch, right in the open kitchen and the chef comes over to the table to see how you enjoyed the meal. Goat cheese, smoked salmon, sauerbraten, spaetzle, ramp butter, vanilla sauce, all personal touches that add much to the meal. You simply can't find much more local or finely prepared food. Gracious, unhurried service, consistently excellent food.

Breakfast was an unexpected treat for those who stay overnight. Warm croissants, real pastries, crusty rolls, yogurt, fresh granola, a huge fruit salad accompanied by a beautiful array of cheeses, salamis and ham (different selection daily). Erhard even goes to the trouble of grilling tomatoes and eggplant for breakfast. Along with fresh eggs, from the chickens and ducks just outside the barn, who could ask for more?

Our stay there was very disappointing. First of all, the Innkeepers are very nice, but I felt they were always watching us like we were going to do something to their property. The breakfast was
nothing great and did not even look too appetizing. I felt they were stingy about everything there, from the food to the "extras"that lot of other places provide for you. The room was not great either...with a bathroom you could barley turn around in. I would never stay there again!

Management response:Responded 2 July 2012

Contrary to all other reviews that were posted for our award-winning Williamsville Inn (21 excellent reviews and more), it's obvious that this review is not only untrue but also mean and so unprofessional. The couple from Sugar Grove, IL, stayed with us June 19 - 21, for two nights, and only complimented us on everything. (property, Inn and breakfast) They didn't say a single word that there was anything they didn't like. On the contrary. I have no idea why they did something so mean without saying anything in person, or calling or emailing us after their departure. I'm sure this is not the first time they have done this to an Inn/B&B. Reviews so contrary to all other reviews should not be posted, and removed by TripAdvisor. Of course, guests like this will never be welcome again to the Williamsville Inn, as I'm sure to other Inns/B&Bs as well.

We celebrated Mothers' day at their brunch. The fixed price menu was superb with quality food and presentation. We drove 45 minutes out of our way to eat at the Inn and it was well worth it.
