Nice place to take a drive to on a fall day. Very busy on weekends. I'm a preschool teacher and we've done field trips here too so the children could pick their own apples.
We live close, so we pick up apples throughout the season here. Always fresh and crisp, I love seeing the varieties come in. They do a good job here, and I like supporting this local family farm. We also buy blueberries in season, and other fresh veggies.
Great day out for the family, and easy to pick your own in season. The "apple sorting machine" is fun to watch and make sure the kids get a chance to walk up behind it on the walkway to see just how it works.
they grow the apples here. Also harvest, wash, sort, and sell. MANY kinds. Also terrific apple pies, hot cider, donuts, and more. beautiful setting. And so glad to see a small operation still thriving.
This is a great place to visit. There's local produce and ice cream and PYO pumpkins. It gets very busy so go early.
Heard of this place but never visited and it is in one of the nicest parts of Wrentham in a very scenic section almost to RI border. It sits on top of a hill and it is surrounded by orchards and farmland and you would never know it is as large as it is if it weren't for the hayrides around the place. The farm store sells everything from fresh pies, donuts (plain not sugar), jellies, syrup and of course bags and bags of apples. It is small but has all sorts of things and also fresh picked vegetables and pumpkins. Prices are decent and it is fully staffed. Surprised to see a hayride here even without apple picking which was sold out. This place really is not a place to pick apples but more to just visit the store and take in the scenery.
Quick review on there pies. I love them! My son and I were driving back from his baseball game in Worcester and were talking about The Big Apple's apple pies and figured we would get off of 495 and grab a pie or two. Apple has to be their best and the fruits of the forest is a close second. The blueberry pie is ok from my point of view. I like a tart pie with the blueberry juice running all over the place. Big Apple's was more sweet and thicker than I like, but if that is what you like this will be one of the better ones you've had. Also the pie shells/crust they use is flakey and buttery which makes the pies out of this world.
