We spent six nights here while visiting family. I always try to stay at Marriott properties, so I chose the Courtyard in Brighton. The facility was fine, but nothing really stood out about it.
Our first room was hot and stayed that way even after we lowered the temperature and went out for a few hours, so the helpful staff gave us another room.
The new room stayed nice and cool in the hot Michigan summer. There were some other issues. The in-room coffee maker dripped. Coffee in the lobby was not free (except, inexplicably, the first morning) for Silver Elite members. The charging station by one side of the bed didn't function. Neither was a big issue, just mildly annoying. The ice machine on our floor was always out of service, but I understand that it's not always easy to get things fixed quickly in this age of the pandemic. Also, it was the first Marriott property we've stayed in for quite some time that lacked a microwave.
The staff was always friendly and willing to help; it followed COVID masking suggestions. The facility's indoor pool was a welcome relief on two occasions.
We didn't spend a ton of time in the room, and in general, it served its purpose. It just didn't stand out, hence the overall rating.
