Great condo hotel in downtown Charlevoix, right across the drawbridge from downtown shops and restaurants. Condos offered for daily and weekly rent means that each room offers a kitchen (stove, microwave, mini fridge, peninsula with barstools, dining room table, etc.) One bedrooms offer a private bedroom and attached bath plus large living area - ours even had a sleeper sofa in the living room for more space. Some are attached and can be rented together to allow families to move between them.
Other, larger suites - on the top floor - offer multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. We used two of them for the bridal party and groomsmen before a recent wedding. Every unit has a different nautical style (caribbean, florida beach, americana nautical, classical New England, etc.) but all nicely done and include the same features, just in different colors.

An attached conference center - a few conference rooms - are available for parties and gatherings. We attended a brunch in one of them for guests in the hotel the morning after a wedding.

The pool and nearby dock allow for outdoor space, and every room has either a walkout patio or balcony overlooking Round Lake and the waterways. Views of the drawbridge, Beaver Island ferry and Charlevoix are wonderful. And downtown shops and restaurants are walkable (about 2 mins away).

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms offer patios that walk out to the docks.... useful if you come or have a boat.

We have been coming to Edgewater for at least 15 years. We would never even think of staying anywhere else. But the last year it's taken a downward turn in housekeeping. They're terrible. They do not clean anything, they do not vacuum, or sweep. They don't clean the bathrooms. We complained they hadn't cleaned and they said they did. What a joke. A pile of wet towels on the floor and dishes in the sink. They said "the bed is made" That's because I made it myself. We stayed in 233. One of the worst we've seen. If they don't clean when we are here you know they aren't cleaning it when we leave. I seriously wonder if they even change the sheets. The bathroom floor had hair on it when we got here. We won't be coming back. What a shame.

Room Tip: It's a crap shoot. Housekeeping is a real problem so nothing really feels or looks clean in any room.

We have stayed here three times over the past two years and it is great!! First of all, the location is great-right on the water so you can watch the boats go by, right in downtown so you can walk to all the places. The rooms are nice and we have never heard our neighbors at anytime. The staff is nice and helpful and tries to accomidate everyone. The pool is well kept and very nice. The restaurant that is attached is very good for breakfast in the morning. Great place that we will keep coming back to!!

Room Tip: Ground floors condo are great because you can walk right out by the water!!

The best part about this hotel is definitely the location. Right on Round Lake near the drawbridge as well as a short walk to Lake Michigan and the downtown shops. Seeing the boats was also nice.

Rooms were large and rather spacious, and staff seemed nice. Rooms were decorated nicely with decor that represented the water/lakes around. Although, rooms were out-dated and could use an update.
Overall this is a really great hotel to stay at while visiting Charlevoix.

We were apprehensive going into this reservation because the units are actually privately owned, which doesn't allow for much assurance when it comes to accommodations. We were so pleasantly surprised with our room (232), which was beautifully updated and offered an incredible view of the water. You really can't beat the location, either. Our only complaint is there seemed to be a group of 20-somethings in the room below us who were unbelievably loud, but in all fairness we never asked the hotel to step in. All in all, a great value and somewhere we will definitely return.

Room Tip: Room 232 was beautifully updated
