Love this restaurant. If you want authentic Mexican food in Detroit and you want a full service sit down restaurant, this is for you. They have a protected parking lot out back--which is helpful in SW Detroit at night. The servers are bilingual as is the menu. The food is delicious. Remember that in Mexican restaurants you have to ask for the check otherwise you can sit there all night.

Tried this restaurant on a recommendation from a "local" and I was very happy I did. We usually go to the more well known ( by suburbanites like me) Mexican Town, Xochimico etc and this surpassed them all, by a long shot. Food was awesome ( we had fajitas and the combo plate), drinks were equally as good. Will definitely be back, and soon!

The food at this restaurant in SW Detroit (Mexican Town) is amazing, soo good, the drinks like Piña coladas, margaritas are good too. Almost with every review comes a good or bad one and in this particular place the food is good and we always go no matter how bad the service is. The service isn't bad like an attitude from the waiters more like a lack of attention and more attention to all male tables or to the bar area, go figure, most of the girls here look very young and still looking for their prince. You will wait a long time for your check, you will wait along time for a refill, food is brought to your table at different times then the ones with you and last but not least if you are a all women table or a husband, wife with children do not expect them to be at your table often. Other then this the place is a great place to dine at. Also not every single waiter or waitress is this way, there are about 2-3 waitresses that actually know how to wait on tables. We eat here at least 3x per month.

I love when a suggestion from the forums pans out. This one was spot on! The restaurant was found by our GPS, just a few minutes outside of downtown Detroit. There is parking behind the restaurant that is monitored by security cameras. Felt perfectly safe in the neighborhood in which it was located. English was definitely the second language here. We dined around 4:30-5 PM on a Saturday. Older man who was the host, was very friendly upon our entry in the back door. He sat us in the front dining room which is full of fun colorful chairs and tables. Plenty of empty tables as well as a steady stream of take-out orders.

Our waitress was beautiful and spoke heavily accented English. The menu had a ton of options and lots of pictures which made it easy for my 12 and 10 year old to figure out what they wanted. Three salsas, a dish of quartered limes, and chips were brought to the table. One was green as reminded me of a thinned sour cream with cilantro, the other was bright red, full of flavor, and not the least bit spicy. The third was brown with pepper seeds viable. It was very thin so it didn't stick to your chip, which was fine because of the heat it imparted.

Husband ordered the combination plate, I ordered the gorditas (1-chicken, 1-pork) dinner, son got the enchiladas (3-beef) dinner, and daughter got the chimichunga (2-chicken) dinner. The dinners came with rice and your choice of refried or whole beans. I chose the whole beans and they were delicious. Pinto beans, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos all stewed together. They were mildly spicy. The forum poster suggested the guacamole and for $4.50, the portion was huge and the flavor was very mild. It had chunks of red onion and tomato in it. We squeezed a few limes over it to brighten the flavor. It was green heaven on a plate.

Surprisingly we ate all of the food! We should have saved room as another table ordered deep-fried ice cream which looked to be a 1/2 of a half-gallon covered with whipped cream and cherries. Sodas (coke products) were served by the can. Two of us had water, and two opted for sodas.

The whole meal was only $45.00!! Quality food, fast-friendly service - a definite find if you are looking for a great Mexicantown restaurant while visiting Detroit.
