Very very poor customer service. Left an item behind in the room and it became nearly impossible to get it sent to me. I understand it courteous of them to help me ship it back, but I don't need to be told that I "need to put in some effort of my own to get it back". Ran out of shipping stickers so they told me to buy a shipping label and send it to them...no idea what size box they are putting it in or where to pick it up made the process very difficult. I wasn't sure they would drop it off at a drop-off location after that or not considering it was needing to arrive next day...I will stop ranting because this has nothing to do with your booking...I will leave it at the place is not welcoming from the time you check in to the time you get your truck out of valet. Management doesn't seem to care...passing my call to others so he didn't have to deal with it. Just wish it was handled better and was treated like a customer. People just don't seem to be happy there. Hope they can get better.

Gave it 2 star because the room was okay, nice size room.

Hotel was Great!!! Front desk lady was awesome!! Room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Greektown Casino was just a short walk through Fishbones. The only problem was the heater in the room was very loud and woke us up every time it turned on. There was not a continential breakfast included only coffee, tea and juice. Upon check out staff was very accommodating. Curtis was awesome and helped us with our bags. Thank you

Dear Jan C,

Thank you for reviewing your stay. We’re thrilled our central location allowed you to get out and explore the nearby attractions, such as the iconic Greektown Casino! Additionally, it’s wonderful to know that you were satisfied by both the tidiness of the room and the comfort of your bed. Most of all, we are elated you had such positive interactions with various members of our team, from the front desk to assistance upon your arrival/departure. Lastly, we apologize for any noise trouble you experienced with the heater and will notify our maintenance team. We value your feedback, and hope you will choose to stay with us again the next time you’re in town.

Sincerely,

We stayed at the Atheneum to catch a Pistons game among other things. The hotel was clean, staff were nice, and the rooms were comfortable with a cool design. it was only a short walk to Little Caesars Arena and Greektown was literally just outside.

We came to watch a hockey game and stayed at The Atheneum. Great locAtion.
Our room was starting to look outdated. Was very clean. Ended up with 2 queens and not a king as we requested. Didn’t want to be bothered to try to get another room so it was ok.
Guy at check in wasn’t that friendly at all.

Bathtub is nice and deep was very relaxing.

Spacious suite rooms.

Dear lovinpalmtrees,

Thank you for sharing your review. We are delighted to read that our central location, spacious rooms, and luxurious amenities made your stay all the more enjoyable. How wonderful that you got to come home to a relaxing bath after the game! However, we are troubled to read about any lapse in services you experienced during check-in. Such behavior is highly unusual for our team. All in all, it was a pleasure to host you. Whether it’s for another hockey game or a different occasion, we would love to welcome you back the next time you’re in Detroit.

I had a rather large suite that included a sitting room and separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. There was lots of extra room to put bags and clothes. The desk was excellent.

But the noise! Between the "smoovejazz" in the lobby that permeates the entire structure of the building, to thin walls that don't keep neighbor-noise out, to noisy door closures and hallway noise, I didn't sleep well.

Would I stay again? Probably not due to the noise.

Room Tip: Get as far from the lobby as possible to avoid the music.
