I live in Ferndale, and this is my favorite restaurant.

Knowing that, several friends arranged a reunion from high school and 6 of us ate here at dinner.

Joseph and Kirk took good care of us, arranging wine, meals, etc. for us according to our tastes and palates.

Service and food were excellent: I had the perch, several had traditional Cajun dishes, and we divided up Key Lime Pie between us.

Happy with drink selections, atmosphere, our waitstaff, and foods.

Had the crawfish chowder and crawfish etouffe - both were very similar (with the later being a thicker and spicier version of the first) and tasty but not spectacular. Good sweet cornbread accompanied our dishes. The Voodoo shrimp was very good.

Wide variety of food, al of it very good. The staff is helpful in describing the flavor. We have gone there many times and never been disappointed. We even took our grandchildren there and they were able to find food they liked. We keep going back. It is one of our favorites for the area. The only downside is that it can be a little noisy as a result of the tin ceiling. There is patio sitting in front of the restaurant in good weather if you don't mind having people walk by on the side walk just a foot or two from your table but on the other side of a rail that is installed. Good place to go if you are looking for something different.

This wasn't our intended location, but we walked in and they had a table for us. This was decent bayou cuisine. The variety was great. They have nice Louisiana beers at a decent price. We had cups of soup/gumbo. They can with a large piece of corn bread, maybe a little too much. We shared the special, succulent pork, and it was delicious, again with 2 large chunks of corn bread. The service was attentive. We will come back.

Nice drink menu and atmosphere, but the real treasure about this place is its amazing food. Extremely affordable, and downright delicious. The jambalaya is a phenomenal classic, but the po-boys are also fantastic. Would definitely recommend! Would advise to come in groups of 2 or 4 for easiest seating.
