I didn't expect I Museum in a small struggling City Like Flint to be so good. But it was packed full with lots of interesting displays on the industrial and Social Development of flint and the surrounding area .
It also featured some Hands-On, and kid-friendly exhibits as well. Some very rare automobiles are also in their collection that you just don't see anywhere else. I would highly recommend anyone stop by and spend a few hours here so we're more about the history of this part of Michigan

The Sloan Museum has something for everyone from young children to senior citizens. They offer a wide-ranging look at the history of Flint Michigan from its beginning to its present. The displays are informative and well put-together in a thematic program. I would recommend that everyone should visit it at least once and I guarantee they will return again and again and again.

We visited the Sloan Museum as an alternative to driving to another museum in Detroit and we were pleasantly surprised. We were able to take in the Titanic exhibit which was a rare treat. The artifacts were interesting and the experience engaging as there was featured background information on the passengers. Each of us received a boarding pass with the profile of one of the passengers and at the end of the exhibit we were able to find out if our passenger survived. This special exhibit was in addition to the regular exhibit which was just as fascinating exploring not only the regional history but 19th and 20th history common to everyday life for most Americans. Having a late relative who participated in the automotive sit-down strikes helped us to appreciate more of what life what like back then. A neat surprise were the two room children's hands on exhibit. A child in our party enjoyed that for at least an hour. There is a small self-serve (pop and snack machines) café adjacent to sit while children play. I highly recommend visiting the Sloan Museum if you are a local or from out of town. It is truly an inter-generational experience.

Went for the Titanic exhibit, checked out the rest of the place. Great capsule history of the Flint area.

My kids love visiting the Sloan Museum! Very affordable and educational outing. Exhibits change on a regular basis so we return again and again. They have have a hands on area that’s great for little ones as well as interesting exhibits for all ages. My kids are 8, 13, and 17. The staff are helpful and friendly. If you have the time, stop here and then at their planetarium. It makes a great day out with the kids and they actually enjoy learning something new!
