We stayed at Daans place. Great bed. Unit cleaned daily. Soft pillows. Daans place is very centrally located. Must eat pancakes at Harries.
We toured Graskop, Hazyview and we went to the Kruger national park via the Phabeni gate. We went to Lisbon falls and Mac Mac pools.
We stayed for 2 nights in one bedroom self catering studio unit with free wifi. Daans place is in a very secure location, was clean and bed was good. Extra tea, milk, towels were provided on request.beak-fast was excellent. Proprietor was very helpful and suggested places of interest nearby as an alternative when we couldn't visit God's window due to heavy mist. Over all our stay there was very comfortable and good value for the price. There are only 4-5 units on this property, when full, hot water may be a bit of issue but wasn't a problem for us.
We were 6 adults and a 2yr old and stayed at Daan's Place in December 2015. It is a small friendly B&B and we found the accommodation to be perfect for a one-night stop. The bed and linen were absolutely luxurious and comfier than our own at home, with even an electric blanket should we need it (which we certainly didn't use in the heatwave we were experiencing!) The kitchenette was extremely well equipped with good quality items, but as we were only staying the one night we only used the fridge and tea/coffee facilities and left before breakfast the next morning. There was good WiFi, a small swimming pool and other facilities which we didn't make use of as we didn't have enough time. Although away from the main street it is only a couple of minutes drive from all the facilities and there is ample safe parking. Ian was a very conscientious host who even checked our cars at night and came to tell us that we had left a light on inside one of them. We were travelling with our 2 yr old little granddaughter and although several of the B&B's in the area don't allow young children, Ian made us very welcome and was very accommodating. I would definitely stay at Daan's Place again and recommend it.
Looking for a stopover - arriving from Cullinan and aiming to drive the Panoramic Route the following day - we chose Daan's Place over other accommodation that admittedly promised more exclusive views. Our reasoning being that we are going to view the scenery anyway while driving and only needed a place to sleep, one that's in town close to restaurants, and not too pricey.
Daan's was perfect for our requirements. It's located, to be honest, in a grungy part of town, but right across from the police station - you don't get better security than that! Plus there is safe parking for you car behind walls with electrified fencing.
There are some lovely options for eating out in town if you don't want to self-cater. Though I would be hesitant to walk there at night - town is quite dark so I'd recommend driving.
The manager received us at Daan's in a very open and friendly manner. We followed all his suggestions on the Panoramic Route and was not disappointed - full marks! Plus he provided a very useful map of the route.
Our room was immaculately clean and contained all one might need.
We can recommend Daan's whole-heartedly to anyone passing through Graskop.
We stayed at Daan's in September 2015 for 1 night and this was a very nice place. we were upgraded to a better room and had a lovely time during our trip around Blyde river canyon
safe parking for the car, fully equipped kitchen, , TV with lots of films! close to some nice restaurants and a few computers at the reception for the guest to use.
