Very good food and service. We will definately return. This restaurang together with the newly opened restaurang Wagner are the only restaurangs you need during a week in Graskop.

This was recommended to us by various different websites and locals. As with most restaurants in Graskop lower your expectations regarding some of the finer details. All in all the food and drinks are great. The restaurant is very quaint and cozy. The establishment operates mainly with bookings because it is quite small.
It seems to be a family business and you are more than likely to see the owner, who is quite unique, jovial and quirky. Reminded me of the grandpa from Up, minus most of the grumpy. Be nice and you will be treated well.

We were recommended to go to the Glass House by a local, and were very disappointed.
The starter soup portion was tasteless and watery and was served with normal mass produced sliced bread on the side, despite being charged a price that deserved something like homemade bread at least.
I had the vegetarian platter for mains. For a small, simple platter with very basic pumpkin and corn on the cob, it was nearly R100. The creamed spinach was very peppery and seemed to have come out of a packet.
The meat dishes appeared to be slightly better quality, but not nearly worth what customers are being charged. Good, wholesome South African meals are usually affordable by nature. To charge nearly R200 for pap (maize meal) and some local meat and vegetables is borderline outrageous.
In summary, the food appears average at best and is definitely not worth the listed prices. This restaurant caters for tourists passing through, at tourist prices.
