The location of this hotel is truly awesome - right on Muskegon Lake, overlooking a marina, and adjacent to The Lake House Waterfront Grille. We enjoyed being able to just sit and look out at the lake with coffee in the morning, and after hiking all day it was a great place to chill out. This is the only hotel I've ever been in that has gold-color ceilings...it mirrors the sunny day outside. The hotel is in need of some TLC in spots. For example, the toilet paper holder came off the wall the first night - not really a good way to start. The room has a full size refrigerator, which is nice, but it is right by the bed and rather loud. Fortunately, the HVAC system allows you to turn the fan on as a sound mask, which is helpful.
One note - there is no continental breakfast available...somehow I had gotten that impression from what other reviewers wrote. They do have a restaurant in the hotel that serves a breakfast buffet for $9.95, but that's way more than I want to eat before doing outdoor activities. If you're like me, BYOB (bring your own breakfast!) Also, if you like extra coffee in the room, bring your own K-cups...they provide a small assortment for the Keurig but we went through that quickly.More
