Owner description: Classic amusement park combined with a water park and Boogie Beach wave pool.

We had a great day at the park. We had 3 children under the age of 8 and they loved the carnival rides and the water park. Not much interest in the more adventurous rides including any of the coasters. As other review have mentioned you should bring your own food which can be eaten at your car. It would be great of the park if they provided a picnic area. It would make for happier customers.

The only negative came at the end of our day. We were not as cautious as we should have been with our belongings and and we set our bag down near a ride. In just a short time the bag was gone along with a wallet, keys, glasses and clothing. This was reported to the park security who basically indicated that they were not responsible. They were not proactive to assist. After some pushing park management engaged and were sympathetic to our loss. The bag turned up later in the evening after we left. Unfortunately the story on what happened was not clear on how it reappeared or where. However, we were pleased to get everything back but the cash in the wallet. I drove back to Muskegon to pick the bag up. In the future we won't assume everyone is at the park to have fun and we'll use the available lockers or always keep our belongings within arms reach. It would have been nice of the park to offer something to recognize our loss. I know that they were not responsible but to increase customer satisfaction the offer of drinks or a small token for the children would have cost very little and would have helped maintain a positive image of the park. A missed opportunity.

Our kids have loved this park for years. The beauty of it is that you can do the whole thing in one day. The waterpark is a great place to start because the park opens at the hot part of the day. Little ones as well as big kids of the ripe old age of 60 can go on the many different water attractions. Snag a lounge chair and lay your stuff on it, like towels and bags of dry clothes and stuff. For valuables, rent a locker; they are not expensive. Moving to the amusement end of the park, go crazy! If you like huge coasters, go to Cedar Point, but here there are a couple that are extreme enough to impress high schoolers. The famous RipCord bungee jump is a definite highlight for our kids and keeps them coming back year after year. We liked the new bumper boats this year as well. The reason why it's not a five-star rating? Food is over-priced and of pretty poor quality (Coaster Restaurant - yuck), and bathrooms are disgustingly smelly and dirty and unpleasant. The park should allow you to bring in your own cooler if it is going to offer such low quality fare. Has anyone there heard of superfoods? The new push afoot in America, toward healthier options for lunch and dinner? More nutrition and less sugar for kids? This can be done better, folks. Just because it is an amusement park does not justify junkiest-in-class junk foods. That said, would I come back? SURE!

Our plan was to do both the water park and rides in one day, and this park is small enough to do most of it. The kids we brought (ages 7 & 11) wanted to spend most time at the water park, so we went there first. It's a 15-20 min hike from the gate, and by the time you change into swim suits, that'll take at least 30-40 min. I saved $3 by buying tickets online, and bought 3 All Day Dining (ADD) passes online at $29 each which include "an entree and a side every 90 min" figuring we 4 could share food, but then found out only 1 food stand in the water park accepts the ADD pass. Also, ADD pass does not include drinks or treats like ice cream. The chicken tenders basket includes 4 pieces of meat on top of a MOUND of fries or rings that we could not finish. (There is 1 salad you can order, but the plan was to share food.) When clouds moved in about 3pm, we switched over to the rides. I let the other adult and 2 kids eat at 5:30, and then I planned to get bratwurst at 7pm. When I asked at 7pm where to buy bratwurst, the park employee told me those restaurants had already closed, well before park closing time! So much for "All Day" dining. So I had a cardboard-like slice of pizza and a bread stick. The souvenir bottle of free refills is probably worth the $11 price if you bring it back to the park for a 2nd visit. Smart families were eating an early 11am lunch in the parking lot and carrying in water bottles. The park employees are mostly young and not excited about working there, but a very kind manager at Coasters restaurant let us in as she was locking the door at closing so we could order 1 more food basket, but I still lost money on the ADD plan. The grandkids had fun, so that's the important thing.

Awesome as always. Hadn't been here in 20 years. Yearly family trip at different places all over the country, this had been planned for a year. We had a minor issue with one of the tickets not scanning but that was corrected. Staff was very helpful. Lots of fun by everyone!

Call ahead for late summer trips to make sure ALL the water rides are working. Little disappointing that two of the larger water rides were shut down. Other than that great trip, clean park, lots of variety to choose from.
