On a cold, snowy Saturday, Kruse & Muer was a high point to our out-of-town shopping trip. The ambiance was classic warmth, but the service and food were memorable.I had the tuna empanadas and a sauvignon blanc. The tuna was flash-seared, and combined with the Asian sauce it made my heart sing. It's a pleasure to see such attention to detail in a lunch dish. As an aside, we like quiet dining. There was a boisterous bridal shower in the back of the restaurant, but we weren't disturbed in the least. It was a pleasant experience. They happened to be out of the caramel bread pudding, so we had the dark chocolate mousse for dessert. We were not disappointed.

I ordered a chef special. It was cranberry Gorgonzola filets with mashed potatoes. The filets were tasty but the mashed potatoes were bland and a little cold. The meal was $27

We ordered 4 adult meals, 1 kids meal, 4 cocktails and our bill was $201. It wasn’t worth $201.

The city of Rochester was swamped, finally found a parking spot on the top floor of the parking structure nearby! Restaurant was busy as usual and maybe even a bit crazier than normal. Wait service was timely but clumsy in delivery. Drinks were improperly fixed and wait staff were rushing about, but the food was excellent! Perch, twin filets, chicken and the signature linguine with lobster & shrimp were excellent! Charley’s chowder and salad to start were all of proper temp and delicious. Unfortunately our waiter dropped a tray of drinks towards the end of the evening splashing more than a couple of diners. Great meal, talented wait staff would get it 5 stars.

We always sit in the front section with the booths, which is quieter. We like to come late in the afternoon, but ask for the dinner menu. We always order the same sort of food, because we prefer it. It is always cooked to our liking. The coleslaw is the best in town. My friend loves the 2 petite filets.
