Visiting our young daughter in the Twin Cities on Thanksgiving Day - it can be challenging to find a quality Thanksgiving meal. Hubby made reservations at the Bloomington ChopHouse. We're glad we went. While the food had your standard turkey day fare, they did offer a wide variety of other enjoyable choices. Their prime rib was wonderful! The service was very attentive and service-oriented, even for a buffet offering. I'd love to go back on try their regular menu.

Was told this restaurant was rated third in Minnesota’s so we really were expecting something great.
Service was okay and prompt. We decided to go with the Date Night special which consisted of one appetizer to share, one entree each and one dessert to share and one bottle of wine. Cost $80
The crab cake appetizer was good and reasonable size for sharing. One couple ordered the Caesar salad to share and each received a huge Caesar salad.
The 10oz. Sirloin steak was disappointing. Taste was great but the size was very small and no way close to 10 ozs. More like 4 oz. and that was one of the bigger ones. Served with garlic mashed potatoes. My meal was barely warm
One person ordered the salmon
was tasty and a good portion.
For dessert we picked the pumpkin cheesecake. Large portion to share and tasty.
The regulars menu is pricey

The bar drinks are great - olive martinis. The beer selection is good with a wide variety. The crab cake was okay as was the French onion soup. The prime rib had great seasoning and the horseradish mash potatoes were yummy. The filet was tender and it came with mushrooms. I would have liked a different side. The lobster Mac and Cheese was very cheesy.
Expresso tortes was rich and flavorful. The apple crisp was a hit.

Food and drink were excellent, but overall they missed the mark. Waited too long for the first drink order. Then with a request for no bacon, it was on my plate. Very slow service.

Finding a very capable and enjoyable restaurant in a mid range hotel is a rarity these days. The French onion soup and the ribeye I ordered were excellent. The steak arrived hot and medium rare as I ordered. Service was attentive and competent. The Chophouse margarita is very worth ordering as well ! Will definitely be back.
