I've taken my family to stay for a week at Eagle Nest Lodge for three summers in a row, and it's met all our needs every time.

The cabins range from a smaller, old log cabin, right on up to new multi-story homes that can handle a big family reunion.

The sand beach seems to extend for miles, but they probably only have half or three-quarters of a mile of beach. It gently slopes out for a long way, giving you plenty of safe area for little ones without going over their heads, while providing deep water for bigger folks who enjoy swimming to a raft & playing out there.

In the spring this is a Walleye fisherman's hot spot, and the Harris family keeps a LOT of dock space going, so every fisher's boat has its own spot, complete with electricity.

The water at the boat docks is nice and deep--no worrying about props & skegs when you come in for a break from the great fishing on Cut Foot Sioux and Winnibigoshish.

I've taken out the 16' Catamaran every year and enjoyed sailing around the lake with my wife & kids.

The family activities were perfect for many ages. Tie-dying shirts, fishing contests, and even a home made water slide that sends you spinning down the hill and into the lake.

The shade trees and small hill on which the resort is built make for a lovely setting to watch the water and picnic from.

The main lodge has plenty to do on rainy days, including a cribbage contest that my young son won, along with snacks and shirts and sweatshirts and anything you'd need that you might have forgotten.

Owners Brian and Sue Harris, and their kids Gunnar and Anna, really made it feel like a good family experience--because they participated in the activities with all the other kids.

Don't miss out on having the kids catch crawfish in the shallows and then boiling them for a tasty evening snack!

Bring sun screen!

If you want to travel a bit & see the local sights, Brian and Sue set us up with great directions to historic forests, lesser-fished lakes, and info about local restaurants.

This is the lake where the Minnesota State Record Muskellunge was caught, so don't be surprised if you catch big fish here--even off their dock!

Room Tip: All rooms are good ones. The older ones are more like resort cabins, the newer ones are much like y...

We first went to Eagle Nest Lodge 10 years ago and no one in the family is willing to give up this annual vacation. The resort has a beautiful swimming beach with lots of water toys (trampoline, hydrobikes, paddleboards, etc) and kids can fish off the dock or you can rent a boat to go fishing or exploring. The Harris family and their staff are exceptional with adults and kids alike. There are planned activities for the kids and some that adults enjoy too. Our kids love it and by now they roam the resort without supervision and love hanging out with the "dock boys." Sitting at the picnic table or at cabin window while gazing out through the trees onto the lake while hearing the loons call is truly relaxing. Can't wait until next year!

This family run resort is nothing short of Top Shelf. A beautiful resort on a beautiful body of water. My wife, son and his family with two kids age 2 and 5 had a blast all day every day. We fished, swam, played on the beach, had bon fires, caught frogs and just laughed for days. The Harris family and their workers make sure everything is easy and care free. Dock boys are there to help once you set foot on the dock, they clean fish and just do anything to make your stay simple. You are in the middle of the forest and are surrounded by huge White pines, Red pines Spruce and just beautiful surroundings. We already booked for next year with our only change being we want to stay for two weeks! Tons of things to do, tons of fun.

Room Tip: All cabins have their own special space.

Excellent as always! Great family resort. Our family has been going to Eagle Nest for 41 years and it gets better every year. Wonderful owners and staff. Great fishing, and water activities for the kids. Highly recommended.

We've known about Eagle Nest Lodge for quite some time and always wanted to stay but kept "put ting it off". We finally went over the 4th this year-what a great time. My husband re-learned what it's like to really relax. My kids learned how to play old fashioned games like catch the flag and sit around a campfire and socialize. I re-learned how to get into a good book- and finish it! Upon returning home my daughter said, " you know mom, I have everything here at home, wifi, a pool, my room, my iPod... But what I miss the most is the freedom I had at the cabin". We craved to go back the days after we got home from ENL. Oh and yes, we will return next summer.

Room Tip: Various types and sizes of cabins. Some have AC. Cool breeze from the lake if no AC.
