Description: Hotel Shoreham Bar & Bistro & Pizzeria. Alive with history, food and spirits. Hotel Shoreham's aura. The parade of past and present. Haunts. Drift back in time circa 1910. Picture yourself in a straw boater or white lace, a summer evening on the porch of the Grand Hotel Shoreham. Loons call. Fireflies fly. Wicker creaks. The ice in your cordial and distant cares melt away.

When we want really good, hot pizza, but don't want a sit-down experience, we call and order our pizza(s) and then drive over to pick them up, never more than 15 to 20 minutes. It is convenient and always delicious.

The Hotel Shoreham has been a favorite of families in the lakes area for many years. The food is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the ambiance is rustic but historic.
Some summer weekends, small bands play outside on the patio and the locals, as well as the tourists, visit, dance, and celebrate summer at the lakes!

Don't order the walleye. Really surprised how management handles a problem meal. Two of our group ordered the much talked about Walleye meal the restaurant is noted for in reviews. Complete disaster. The fish came out overcooked and dry. You actually had to cut it with a knife. When we mentioned it to our server, she came back from the kitc5and stated "that's why we recommend you don't request blackened seasoning". What....she never said a word when it was ordered. Blacken is a seasoning and should no affect the fish! Management's solution to the meals was to give a free $6 dessert to them. Now keep in mind, they only spoke to one of the diners. Dessert comes out with 6 spoons. Shock on everyone's face. We asked to speak to the manager. Asst Mgr came out and asked if they weren't happy with their meal why did one person eat it. Becuz he was hungry???? After a bit of discussion they did take the 2 425 dinners off the bill, but it really wasn't the nice family dinner we had planned. Maybe should stick to pizza.

My wife and I wanted to try the olde resort style of the Shoreham because we had heard good things about it from friends.
We both ordered an entre that came with a dinner salad and side.
My wife ordered the battered shimp and I ordered the southern fried chicken, just because I had been thinking about it.
Unfortunately the shrimp were small and not very tasty and the chicken was over battered and over cooked.
The desert was the saving grace for us. We ordered the chocolate cheese cake which was excellent. The deserts are homemade.
Our recommendation is to skip the dinner and proceed directly to the dessert menu.
We may return, but just for a desert and coffee.

How important is atmosphere to you? For me, it's everything! This is the place to be on a Saturday night, and I was very happy with my experience. This beautiful place was bustling--over a half hour wait for indoor seating, and about 10 minutes to wait for the lovely outdoor veranda, complete with bar. Around 8:30 a band began to set up. I wish we could have stuck around for the live music. Kids were welcome.

They have three or four local beers (as in Fargo, for example) which is enough to make it worth the trip. Unfortunately, our meals didn't live up to the other elements of the place. The walleye was bland, the enchiladas were just a mass of cheese and refried beans. Where were the tortillas? The kids' pizza average.

One exception: the malt milk shakes. Heaven!

If I lived in the area, I would return to this restaurant for a night out with friends, but not for the food unless a friend could vouch for an item.

Warning: The restaurant is a good 15-minute drive away from the center of town, and the parking lot is cramped. In the patio, many tables are under trees--beware bird poop!
