We stayed in the Spring room for a weekend. Everything you could want in a bed and breakfast. The room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The bathroom was gorgeous, so much sunlight, and stocked with amazing homemade soap. Everything made it apparent that this was a very old building, but extremely well taken care of. As if it was new, but you were living a couple hundred years ago. The location was perfect. Just outside the restaurant/shops part of town. Quiet, but walk-able to anywhere. Lots of great food options. We took a pretty drive to some hiking further south one day, but hiking options in town too (we had done in the past).

The owners were charming and funny. Friendly, but adaptable to however social you wanted to be. We ended up really enjoying wine/beer/cheese social time, and we tend to be a little anti-social sometimes. They gave us great tips of things to do around town. The live music at Jimmy's Pub being one of them. The pets were a highlight for us. A cat that likes belly rubs, yes please.

Breakfast was of course wonderful. The dining room was beautiful. Coffee was available right outside of our room which was nice, we like a cup or two while we get ready. Came home to popcorn one night and brownies the next. Plenty to snack on or drink anytime.

Definitely one of the best bed and breakfasts we've been to. We will definitely be back when it's warmer to enjoy what looked like a really fun patio/backyard area.

Room Tip: We loved the Spring Room. Great for a couple.

Spent the weekend here and while not the best B&B experience, it wasn't the worst I've had.
Pros:
-Great location - walking distance to some good restaurants and shops
-Yummy breakfasts
-Great hosts - knowledgeable and helpful
Cons:
-The inn has a cat and while their webpage states it's banned from the second floor and guest rooms, the cat greeted us IN our room
-Dusty room/bathroom with lots of webs and spiders, found dirty tissues on the floor
-Uncomfortable bed (linens were fresh and clean and pillows were great)

Spent a somewhat uncomfortable night but some aleve along with the great breakfast and coffee made up for the downsides.

Our anniversary weekend was an enjoyable experience. The winter room was beautifully appointed. Goodies set out for an evening snack was a total surprise and treat. The hosts were gracious, warm and helpful. The breakfasts were fabulous. The B & B is a few blocks from the town center. Even in the winter it was a nice walk to restaurants and shops. I have been telling my friends to stay there. We hope to come back!

Room Tip: Loved the winter room. Great view, great shower, calming space.

My wife and I escaped to Red Wing for a quick getaway to recharge our batteries. Pratt-Taber was a perfect fit. Comfortable room, great hospitality. Deb and Ron are great hosts. Snacks are always available along with a wine and cheese each night.

Breakfast each morning was fantastic. Our breakfast meals were better than any of the meals that we had at restaurants in town.

Downtown is only a few blocks away.

We enjoyed a two night stay at the Pratt-Taber Inn, March 2017. Breakfast was delightful and the location is ideal for enjoying the culture and downtown amenities of Red Wing. We especially loved the cat and the dog!
