I arrived at Night's Inn (across from Country Inn), as I had read good reviews online and wanted to give a non franchise mom and pop place my business. The front desk women were friendly and chatty if not a bit nosey. I was given a room in the back wing on the corner and thought nothing of it, as I had told her that I would be leaving very early in the morning. As I was about to open up the door, the older woman ran out and shouted to come back and that she'd put me somewhere else. She took my key and gave me another and told me that she decided to move me since, "There's a bunch of blacks back there." I was taken aback. I said that shouldn't matter as I didn't know what else to say. She responded, "They'll be in and out all night making noise and you won't get any sleep." My mom is black. You can't really tell why ethnicity I am, but even if I had blue eyes and blonde hair I couldn't believe a business owner would say that to a customer. I wanted to leave the place but I was tired and had to go to a funeral in the morning and honestly didn't have the energy to have a conversation with an ignorant individual while demanding my money back. She took money from people she thinks less of, so I took a room from her and wrote a review of my experience.
