We stayed over the 4th of July at this awesome property on Leech Lake in Walker. We reserved a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo for our family of 5. Anyone traveling with a family knows how great that extra bathroom is! We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the condo was - from the granite counters in the kitchen to the lovely furniture and accessories throughout the condo. I was even more surprised to find a small washer and dryer in the room, with detergent provided. We brought our own air mattress so did not use the pull out sofa.
Our room had 2 balconies - one off the master that looked down the street to the lake and one off the living room that faced into the parking lot and town. We used both balconies.
As another reviewer mentioned, parking was pretty full but there are other side streets not far away where you could safely park your car during the busiest times. The hotel elevator was extremely slow but you enter the building we were in on the 2nd floor so we only had to walk up 1 flight. The only true complaint I had is that there were a few young children staying directly above us and we heard their footsteps a little too clearly when they ran around. However, they did not interrupt my sleep.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again if we visit Walker.

Room tip: Ask for the top floor to avoid hearing noises above you

My family stayed in the condos which were very nice and had a full kitchen. There was ample living space as well as a nice screened in porch. Immediate beach access with a great view of Leech Lake. The restaurant connected was also great food for a fair price

Room tip: We used the condos which were a great place for families and had immediate beach front access

At 200/night this is over priced. Can't find a parking spot in the hotel lot. We got a suite, pull out mattress is horrible. I don't expect luxury but I do expect more than springs at that rate. No bedding in the room for it and our reservation showed three. Can't call down to the desk, no phones. Use cell to call the 800 number and no one answers.

Very little beach, very little, for the number of people here.

Restaurant food is great and price is great. Live music was good as well, in the bar downstairs.

Within walking distance if the whole town, nice if you find a spot to park. Don't move!

Towels are super soft, shower pressure is GREAT as well.

Thank You for the review! We apologize for the parking situation. The parking lot outside the Chase is city owned and we know that this can be a headache at times. We hope that you find time to come back and visit us again and we can improve upon this review!

Have a great day!

Had lakeview king room. Lovely view and wonderful lakeside dining. You can relax in a casual atmosphere and watch the sunset.

Hotel overall is a bit tired and could use some redecorating. Beach is very very small. If you bring a boat, you need to launch it at public landing, and take trailer to offsite location to park, as trailer parking is limited to three spaces. Just be aware to allow extra time for this.

Would come back, as you can’t beat the location right on the water.

Chase on the Lake is an historical fixture in Walker, Minnesota, on the shore of the huge Leech Lake. Our room was huge with plenty of light from 8 windows. Although we didn't try the restaurant or bar while there, we understand that the food and beverages are excellent. Do yourself a favor and speak with them personally when making a reservation as booking sites take a big cut of what they call "the going rate." Rooms are very pricey, so hang on to your wallet. Also, plan to have breakfast in the dining room as there is no Continental Breakfast for guests; park early as the lot fills up completely during the busy summer tourist season.
