Great for families and good for college students (and adults) looking for a "tamer" night experience, Betty Jo's is spacious with many, many booths and a very large bar for hassle-free drink ordering and socializing. Because of its "pubbish" interior many college students will eschew Betty Jo's for the "divey-er" downtown alternatives, leaving Betty Jo's the safer, saner and more sober nighttime experience.
Tuesdays and karaoke night and there's virtually no waiting if you feel like singing, and patrons are mature and respectful (no drunken screeching). Generally chatter is kept to a minimum and except for the singing the bar can be rather quiet--a nice alternative if you wish to actually visit or hold a conversation with who you came with.
Be wary, if the night is slow the bartender has full rights to close the bar early--sometimes as early as 11:00 p.m.--so get there with plenty of time for drinks and you'll be okay.
Clean, respectful, attractive and attentive quick service make Betty Jo's a solid choice for stable nighttime fun.
