People are so friendly and treat you like family. Certainly nothing fancy, but darn good food. Not necessarily a greasy spoon joint either cause the burgers are not at all greasy. They must use a good grade of meat cause our burgers have never been anything but GREAT! We never miss a chance to stop by Beatty Street. The neighborhood might leave a lot to be desired but do not hold that against Beatty Street Grocery, as they were there first. Just learned this trip that the gyros are made with lamb, how many burger joints serve lamb?!?! I rate Beatty Street Grocery as TOP knotch and if you've never tried them you are truly missing out. And it will not break the bank to eat here! Beatty Street Grocery, keep on keeping on, just the way you are. We are from Texas and we tell everyone we meet about this great place.

Who needs frills and thrills when you have good food for a great price with excellent service.
True southern hospitality with a mom and pop feel. Cheeseburger combo can't be beat and get the seasoned fries. And if you really want to tempt your palate...get yourself a fried bologna sammich...lol
Beatty Street--a true gem in Jackson!

Don't go in looking for frills and thrills. The food is awesome and the service is great. I love going. However, don't go doing the lunch hour. The crowd and line can be a bit much. So if your lunch hour is flexible, go around 1:30 or 2:00. Try the steak poboy with grilled onions and peppers and get the fries sprinkles with Tony's seasoning. They are to die for.

As others have said, this place has a great burger especially for the price. The ribeye sandwich is quite good and the fried bologna hits that spot, if your taste run that away. Ordering can be intimidating as the range of choices is great and there is a little "soup nazi" feel to the process. But don't worry I have never heard "no burger for you."

This is a good place for tasty, yet inexpensive food. They even serve bologna sandwiches. They also sell burgers, ribeye sandwiches and chili dogs. Best value for your money.
