Terrible experience !!! We have stayed here several times in the past. And it "WAS" great. Now it has a new owner of Indian descent. And he has a very bad attitude. I have spent several weeks vacation in India and never experienced anyone with this kind of attitude. Most Indians are very patient and accommodating, but not this guy.
As stated we have stayed here multiple times in the past. And have always brought our little dog with us and have never been charged a fee for bringing him. My wife made the reservations and was never asked if we had a pet and did not think to tell them since we have never had a problem before. My wife paid for the room at the gas station/ convenience store to a young Indian woman. Upon entering our room my wife always goes through here inspection. She noticed it was not as clean as it usually is. There was dust on the counter top and on top of the tv. Also the bathroom was dirty. The floor was not vacuumed and had dead bugs on the carpet. There we're only 2 bath towels, no hand towels at all even though we made reservations for four. An older Indian lady that did not speak english was already retrieving towels for the room next door so my wife got towels for us also.
At this time i was outside with our dog. Upon putting him back in the room I stayed outside to finish my cigarette. I noticed a man and his two small children exiting the office and walking my way. The children made it to me first so i acknowledged them and asked how they we're doing. As he walked up he proceeded to ask if we had a dog and of course I said yes. He proceeded to call me a liar for not telling them about it. I tried to explain we had stayed here before and always brought our dog. He continued to call me a liar to my face. We started to get loud so my wife and son heard us from inside the room. When my wife tried to explain he called here a liar also pointing his finger in here face. She too explained we we're repeat customers and had never had a problem with the dog and she did not think to tell of him and was not asked by the person that made our reservations if we had a dog. He told her he did not have to ask it was our responsibility to tell them. And he was very loud rude and belligerent telling us we had to leave and he would not refund our money. And also said he was going to charge an extra $100 to our card for lying to him. Ha funny thing is my wife paid with cash so no worries there. We loaded our luggage back into our car and went to the gas station where we checked in. The lady was polite at first but said we lied about the dog and would refund all but $10 of our money because they would have to clean the room now since we entered it and set our luggage down. I wanted all of my money since we did not use the room and told her so. She then got very rude and refused to refund us any money at all.
We exited the store and called the local police. When they arrived we gave them the story. The policeman informed me this was not the first time he was called because the man (new owner) was constantly causing trouble with his customers. The policeman also (believe it or not) said he was hoping someone would kick this guy's butt really bad so maybe he would stop being abusive. The policeman asked us to stay outside while he conversed with the lady at the counter. He cam back with all of our money except for the $10 cleaning fee. He said it was the best he could do and opologised. I thanked him for his efforts and went to another motel.
Bottom line ! I will never stay at this motel again or stop at this gas station.

We stayed here last fall. My family has stayed here many times in the past, even rented multiple rooms for funerals and family reunions. It used to be a great place to stay for a great price. Now the rooms have went downhill and the service was horrible.

I have 3 kids, my wife and I along with them stay in one room when we travel and never have a problem.
First, there was no hot water. It was late so I didn't say anything. The next day I asked for my money back on the second night I paid for, because we were going somewhere else. The owner told me I had to wait until his wife came in. I had somewhere to be and couldn't really wait. They charged my parents twice for the room they were in. When the owners wife finally came in she gave us our money back, but the owner came up to the counter. This was inside of a gas station convenience store and called me and my family animals because we slept 5 to a double bed room. He did this in front of customers. Very rude. Very dirty room. Very horrible experience. I will NEVER stay there again. I'll gladly pay bigger bucks for a pleasant experience in another town.

Room tip: Use Honeysuckle Inn in Mtn. View, MO.
