We stopped in on Friday before heading to a show. There was a 1 hour wait however we sat at the bar adjacent to the kitchen. It was very entertaining to watch the kitchen work. All of the pizzas looked amazing. We got pasta. They also gave you bread when you first sit down. If you are not in a rush, be sure to check this place out. The food is great and the prices are reasonable.

This was my first visit having stayed away from eating there because it was the "posh" place to go. I went solo and sat at the "food bar" which I always try because I can talk to the people doing the cooking. I love places that are noisy because I enjoy the energy of the place and Pastaria is noisy. I went for the basic...chitarra aglio e olio with olive oil, garlic, chilis, grana padano cheese, and anchovies and it was absolutely wonderful. Their olive oil comes from California but rivals some of the best from Italy or Greece. Just try their olive oil on a slice of bread sprinkled with their grana padano cheese and you will realize the splendor of simple ingredients. Their menu covers everything you could want and I will be back to try some more dishes.

This restaurant is always packed with lines of people waiting, while the others around it are largely empty. And there's good reason: the food is simply delicious! And the servers are friendly and efficient. Tables are so close that you end up speaking to your neighbors. I went there for dinner twice. The first time we got in right away as there was a table for 2 that came vacant. The second time I was told there would be a half-hour wait for inside, so we elected to eat out on the sidewalk. The benefit of the sidewalk seating is that it's a lot quieter than inside. You can tell how much I liked it because I went twice on a 6-night visit to Clayton.

The Pastaria has been a favorite of ours since we came across it 3 years ago!

This is one of the best Italian-inspired restaurants across the U.S. The pasta is ALWAYS cooked perfectly (al dente), flavorful, and the service is enjoyable and attentive. Every time my husband and I stop by, the place is full.

My favorite is the Cacio e Pepe pasta. My husband loves the spice and flavor of the Aglio e Olio. Gelato is homemade as is the pasta! Fresh pasta is also available for you to take home and cook at home.

Highly recommended for genuine Italian style pizza and pasta!

Way overpriced, food adequate but certainly not outstanding, host was rude, ridiculously long wait for three people on a Thursday night (50 minutes). Would not eat there again.
