Most of the bed and breakfasts in Hermann are extremely expensive, usually $200-300, so when my husband and I decided to go there on our weekend get-away we thought we'd be spending a fortune on lodging. Luckily we found A Secret Vine Bed and Breakfast and stayed in the Bay Suite. This bed and breakfast is an amazing value. It is located within walking distance of antique shops, several restaurants, the Missouri River, and the Hermanhoff winery. The accommodations are perfect. The room is sunny and beautiful because of all the windows. The bed is super comfortable. The private bathroom is not something that other bed and breakfast's offer, so that was a definite plus. The yard has beautiful landscaping and many benches where you can sit and relax. We enjoyed coming back to the room each evening because everything was so relaxing.
The breakfast is nothing special but since the room is so much cheaper than the other bed and breakfasts its hard to complain. The first morning we were served a slice of french toast, a hash brown patty, several sausage links, and some fruit. The second morning we had quiche, tater tots, fruit, and a slice of gooey butter cake. It was good and satisfying, just nothing out of the ordinary.
We are already planning our next trip to Hermann. We will definitely stay in the Bay Suite at A Secret Vine.More
