We tried a few places during our visit to Salema, and by far, this was our favourite. It's a quirky little gem.
We were on an organized walking tour, and this was the place to come for breakfast each day. Paolo put on a really good spread, with lots of choices brought right to the table, and even provided the option of packing some for lunch on our hike. Excellent cappucinos to start the day! Paolo was so welcoming, we decided to try the place for dinner.
It was busy, but he found us a seat, and attended to us quickly. The couvert was fresh, the wine good, and our main meals were delicious and very generously sized. I ordered the Fettucine Bistro, and it was excellent - three types of pasta including squid ink, and lots of big prawns and scallops perfectly cooked in a delicate but flavourful sauce.
Paolo and the other waitress stopped by our table on several occasions to chat, as well as with other patrons at other tables. Paolo even helped us with some tips for the next leg of our hike. It was a lovely evening, and if we ever return to Salema, we will certainly stop by again for a meal.
