Very nice, clean and comfortable accommodations. The owner, Rachel, was so nice and available via text anytime if we needed anything during our stay. She’s very knowledgeable of places to visit and eat while visiting the area. Highly recommend staying there.

Plain & Fancy is the ultimate bed and breakfast experience. Rachel, the host, is incredibly kind and a truly warm and generous person. We stayed in the Scarlett room, which is huge, with double shower and large jacuzzi tub. As it was January, we utilized the fireplace - which was set for us and easy to light. Cozy and romantic. Breakfasts were large and she asked us what time we wanted it for each day, which was very accommodating. If you are any where close to this area of Missouri on your travels, a stay at Plain & Fancy will absolutely be a highlight.
Wonderful hospitality! Breakfast both mornings were delicious. Coffee, Tea and other drinks 24 hour accessible. Outdoor hot tub, inground pool. Rachel will give great recommendations of things to do and places to eat for dinner. Very friendly cat Chad was so sweet and lots of fun!! My daughter and I cannot wait to go back!

First off, the owners of this B&B are super sweet and so personable- they're the kind of people you wish you could be friends with.
I had originally planned to tent camp on the Tom Sauk mountain, but with 100+ degree temps, I opted to pay for somewhere to sleep so I could spend my time in nature without hating life ;)
My room (I stayed in the front room) was SUPER cute and felt so inviting, just like the rest of the house.
The area where you eat breakfast is adorable and so cutely decorated. You have coffee, tea, hot water- anything you need.
The breakfast is to die for, I don't know what Rachel made but I would absolutely eat there before anywhere else around that area.
My room had a HUGE bathroom with a sit-down bench in the shower, which was great after kayaking 11 miles down the Black River. There's also a mini fridge and microwave, so you can keep your snacks cool.
I didn't use the pool or hot tub, but had I stayed longer I am sure I would have.
Would DEFINITELY recommend! I know I'm forgetting things but seriously, the moment you walk into this place it just feels like home.

We had an amazing stay at Plain & Fancy, a beautiful bed and breakfast. The rooms (we were in Butterfly and Scarlett) and en suite bathrooms are spacious with huge tubs, mini fridges stocked with beverages, drying racks, easy chairs and sofa, writing/eating tables, multiple windows, comfortable beds. There is an outdoor hot tub, playground, and, near the close-by cabins, a small pool great for kids. Everything was super clean. Breakfasts were so filling it was a two-meal day to stay there because we were full till dinner. The grounds are gorgeous - flower beds, lawns, and a lovely country creek where you can watch the fish dart about. But the most special aspect of our stay was our host Rachel. She and her family are gracious, generous, kind and accommodating to everyone's needs. Rachel was flexible with breakfast timing and attentive to dietary requests. She is the easiest person in the world to talk with, and went out of her way to make sure my and my family's stay was perfect in every way. Because of the heat spell, we couldn't spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun, but because the rooms and common rooms are large and welcoming, with comfortable chairs in outdoor shaded areas that attracted breezes (front porch, gazebo, for example), we never felt closed in. Our family spent 5 luxurious nights in this delightful B&B, and we would love to visit again.
