Description: Winslow's Home is a decidedly relaxed atmosphere that serves some seriously great things. We are at once a cafe, espresso bar, bakery and private events space set in the middle of a contemporary general store. While breakfast and lunch orders are taken at the counter and then delivered to your table, dinner offers our guests the opportunity to unwind a bit through the transition to table service after 5pm. The relaxed and warm setting offer interior and seasonal patio options and our loyal customers are as diverse as our menu. We are located in the vibrant historic neighborhood of University City Missouri, an inner suburb of St Louis. Centrally located, we are roughly 3 blocks from Washington University, 4 blocks from downtown Clayton, 7 miles from the arch and the Mississippi River and 12 miles from the airport. Winslow's Home owns and operates a working farm in Augusta Mo. 35 miles from Winslows Home. Here we grow seasonal produce herbs, fruit and flowers using organic and biodynamic methods. This allows our team of chefs to craft some of the best fresh scratch cooking in the region. Deliveries from farm to fork happen 2-3 times a week, 10-11 months a year. The farm also hosts private events. Awards in the recent past by regional and national press include continued inclusion in "best of" lists, best artisan food shop, best breakfast, best carry out, best chocolate chip cookie, best farm to table restaurant, best grass fed beef burger, best cafe, best place to bring out of towners and best sandwich. Winslows Cellar is our events space. entering through Winslows Home, the Cellar is a secret jewel that offers our private dining guests an elevated Winslows experience. The space is an intimate, mahogany paneled room featuring private restrooms, original artwork, and oriental rugs. Seating 36, the Cellar features a lounge area, full bar, presentation and sound systems. This unique space is an ideal setting for private celebrations and business meetings alike. Menus are all individually customized by our team of professionals.

Still haven't been here in person but my wife has and brought home a peanut butter chocolate bar for me and it was fantastic. She also said her beet salad was great. She said it was the perfect lunch spot for her and her girlfriends. We will be returning soon and trying this again!

Love the feel inside and the shaded outdoor seating. Perfect for a coffee date with my friend! The croissants are wonderfully fluffy/flakey and buttery -yum! And went well with the honey-lavender latte. Can’t wait to go back for more baked goods and to try some of their lunch options.

I had never heard Winslow’s but received a gift card from someone describing it as her very favorite restaurant. We were not disappointed! The brisket sandwich and fries were delicious. My husband loved the burger.

Very disappointed. Visiting St. Louis for the week, my husband and I were excited to try Winslow's Home for dinner. To start with, our waitress was quite hard to understand and rude giving us limited attention (being too busy chatting with her co-workers to offer very attentive service). The other waitress working in the restaurant was singing along (at full volume) and interpretive dancing to the atmospheric music being played... we didn't know we were in for a dinner AND a show. At one point while waiting for our meal, my husband and I looked up to see the owner, Winslow, trimming his facial hair with scissors while standing behind the cash register. Very unappetizing. After he had trimmed sufficiently, he placed the scissors back in the pencil/pen cup sitting on the counter and then (without washing or putting on gloves) he proceeded to serve the next customer from the pastry case with his bare hands. The food is overpriced ... I ordered the Winslow's Burger... the bread was cold and the meat and fries lacked seasoning. My husband ordered the special (meatball sub) and it was also luke-warm at best.

A couple of women sitting next to us who were also being served by our same waitress each ordered the Nightly Special - a preset multi-course menu (not knowing that it was served family-style). When the waitress brought out two orders of the family-style special, they commented on the amount food they were being presented... and the waitress callously said "well, many people share since it's family style but y'all each asked for one so this is what ya get." The ladies were disappointed that the waitress assumed they knew how the special was served especially since the menu did not specify. They mentioned that they already had plans for the evening and would not be able to take any of the left-over food home... resulting in a large amount of waste.

All that to say... I would not recommend and we will NOT be returning.

Really loved the quiche and cookies but the ordering and seating was confusing and chaotic especially for a first timer. Would go back again for the to go quiche.
