We enjoyed our stay here. Loved the old time motor lodge. We appreciated being able to park in front of our room and walk right in. Room was just fine. Breakfast was okay. Good location. Beds and linens were comfortable. Right on Rt 66. Enjoyed the nostalgia

Had a great two night stay at the Route 66 Rail Haven hotel. We were in pet friendly room 303, you can back right up to your doorway to load/unload your car. The room was clean and fresh smelling. It also backed up to a good sized green space to walk your dog.
The exterior of the hotel is also well maintained, the lobby and breakfast area are decorated very cute. The pool was closed for the season, but there is a real nice covered patio area next to the pool with several picnic tables for guest to enjoy.
All of the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. My heater wasn't working, and a maintenance guy came to quickly fix it. I was impressed at how well the staff work together to make the guest have a pleasant experience.
**as a side note, make time to visit the Springfield-Green County Botanical Center. It is also dog friendly and a beautiful place to get a lot of walking. My pup enjoyed it too!

Clean, Comfortable and Quiet! This was a random and very pleasant find as I passed through Springfield. Don't let the outside fool you-- this is one of the best hotel/motels I've ever stayed in because of these 3 things I listed above. Room was updated and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Super friendly staff. Cool outside area with the cars. This place has all positive attributes in my book.

We got exactly what we expected from a quality BW. Clean, and professional. This place is a motel style state....it was awesome to have our car parked right outside our room. We slept in and missed breakfast, so we cannot rate that. All else was perfect.

There were definitely pros and cons.
The pros for me:
Staff were friendly and helpful
Coffee for breakfast was very good!
Room was very clean
Cons:
The beds were probably a full size. Smallest bed I’ve slept in for many years.
Bed wasn’t comfortable either.
Area felt questionable for safety.
Scrambled Eggs at breakfast were definitely not made from fresh eggs.
The room was extremely small.
The hit water wasn’t hot. Had to run straight hot water to shower comfortably.

This is a historic property, built in the 1930's and we do understand it is smaller and not for everyone.
