After traveling around the country and staying in several different motels/hotels around the same price range, this one was by far the best bang for my buck. I am surprised that it is not higher up on the trip advisor hotel list because trust me, you can do much worse for the rates you get at TLC. The room was clean, cute and I felt safe in the area, especially with having an indoor entrance to my room and being up on the top floor. I have paid more for rooms that were dirty, old and I felt unsafe and they have been ranked as high (granted, this was not in Bozeman).
Honestly, people are knocking them for the silliest reasons. No, they do not have an elevator. Unless you are physically disabled, this is really not a big deal. I liked climbing up and down the stairs to my third-level room after having been sitting in a car for 8 hours. This is a very characteristically American thing to complain about. No, the breakfast isn't great. I didn't feel this was such a big issue that I should give only four stars. The rates were very fair for what you get. There's a McDonald's across the street (McD's breakfast, guilty pleasure; plus I did a lot of stairs). I spent $5 and the problem was solved. Someone else complained about the front desk attendant, Sarah. Sarah was perfectly pleasant and friendly to me and the check in process was very smooth.
Bottom line is, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for resort-type amenities, this will not provide that or they would charge more for the rooms. I was very, very happy with my experience having just been passing through and looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable place to stay. This is not as easy to find as you would think.
