This is a really friendly and slightly quirky caravan park overlooking the mighty Daly River. It has nice shaded camp sites and a few cabins and is surrounded by mature mango trees. At certain times of the year it is packed with fishermen chasing barramundi, but for most of the dry season it is a nice mix of NT locals and grey nomads.
Mango Farm was completely underwater during the Xmas 2015 floods, but there is little evidence of that.
Whilst the infrastructure is a bit old and the place could do with some investment, the management work very hard and keep it spotless. They are also very helpful and friendly which is not always guaranteed in the outback.
It is about 220km from Darwin via a very good sealed road, but we drove down from Darwin via the Reynolds River 4X4 track that goes through Litchfield NP. The Reynolds Track is a great drive if you have 4X4 and takes about 2-3hrs. There are a few small river crossings, but nothing too dramatic. Great range of landscapes along the track.
A tip for once you get to Mango Farm is to have a few beers in the early evening overlooking the river and you will most likely glimpse a fairly large crocodile or two.
