The Hyatt in Incline Village in the summer is a United States sleeper. The lake and the view of the mountains is to say the least spectacular. The hotel has a great spa, new pool area and a slew of good and great restaurants.

We stayed in a two bedroom vacation timeshare. There was two double beds in one room and a king in the master bedroom on the other side of the unit. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was a large table that sat 4 adults and 4 kids. We had a pull-out sofa bed we didn't use. There was a large closet at the entry for our ski boots and gear and ski lockers downstairs. We were very pleased with our unit and friends had another two bedroom unit with a different layout that worked great for them. The location of this Hyatt was great in the fact that we were half-way between Heavenly and Squaw Valley. Spent several days at both ski areas. Incline Village is somewhat limited in restaurants but with the kitchen, we were able to eat several dinners in the unit. The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe was across the parking lot and they have a casino and restaurants on property. We ate at the Lone Eagle Grill overlooking the lake. It was beautiful and everyone raved about their meal. There is a small outdoor, heated pool the Sierra Lodge, which was great for us. We were told that the pools and facilities at the hotel were available to us, but we didn't have time to use them. We would not hesitate to go back to the High Sierra Lodge. It is quiet, very comfortable and perfect for our family of four, for our ski vacation.

Room Tip: Top floor so no units over you. Seemed all buildings would be fine to be in.

My wife and I have traveled extensively, for both business and pleasure. We are both in agreement that the worst treatment we have ever had as travelers is at this resort. We reserved in March for an August family vacation, and paid a hefty deposit to secure the reservation. In spite of this, when we arrived for check-in last week, we were informed that the first week in August is a very popular time for their owners and that the only unit they had available for us was on the first floor of the building adjacent to the busy highway. When we inspected the room, we discovered that it was totally inappropriate for small children as the busy highway was very close to the patio and there was no fence or safety barrier in place. Ultimately, we returned to the front desk and demanded return of our deposit. We were able to book a unit at a competing facility which was much nicer, with a friendly and helpful staff. It was also significantly less money. We had a great vacation, in spite of the rude treatment we received from the staff a this property.

Our stay was mid April. Weather still cold, snow, and wind. Water was very choppy. As far as the resort itself, read reviews about the best buildings to stay in for views and quietness. I requested either building 4 or building 5 based on those reviews. Excited to be assigned to building 4, top floor, middle unit. As it turns out, building 4 is NOT a good building to be in. The view of the mountains was definitely the best probably out of all, however, there is a very large field in the back, just beyond the creek and tree line that had activities going on throughout the day. In the mornings, there is dogs, lots and lots of dogs, with their owners and some sort of training classes going on. Barking constantly. That continued till the next round of activities came, which started at around 5 pm everyday, soccer. Several different games of soccer going on, all at the same time. I'm not exagerrating folks. So, basically from day break till sun down, dogs and yelling hispanics (not being racist, that's just who was playing soccer everyday). If had to do it all again, I would have chosen either building 1, 2 or 6. Building 3 has a pool view, but that's about it. Also, very loud location because of all the pool, hottub and firepit activities. (maybe I'm just getting old). Besides all that, room was nice, staff very helpful and facilities also nice. We have stayed at just about every HVC property and on a scale of one to ten, ten being best, I would have to give this one a 6. I hope this review helps someone who is as picky as me when it comes to resort stays.

This is an excellent choice for families who want to "ski Tahoe", but don't want to stay at one resort. It is near several slopes, with NorthStar and Heaveny only about 30 minutes away (at most).
Rooms were great; clean and comfortable.
We had an issue with the wireless network, but it was taken care of quickly.
Staff was very helpful and gave us good advice on ski slopes.
We were also very close to the Lake. Great sunrise and sunset views!
We recommend it for a family trip!
