“Must See Marvel”
Review of Hoover Dam Bypass

Hoover Dam Bypass
Ranked #38 of 470 things to do in Las Vegas
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 30 March 2018

we wanted to show our 10 and 11 year old kids how amazing this Engineering Marvel this is!!! while we were in Las Vegas. Its short drive from Vegas by car or you can book a bus tour whichever works. It was very good experience although we didn't get to do the tour of the dam because it was closed for maintenance. My suggestion is to call ahead before making plans to visit the dam.

The Hoover Dam is a must see while visiting Las Vegas. This place is simply remarkable and huge part of history. If you are able to do the complete tour, it is well worth the extra money. To see all of the dam underground is quite an experience. Make sure to get your picture taken on both the Nevada and Arizona sides of the Dam!

Amazing is all I can say about the Hoover Dam. You can't stop on the bridge overpass to view it, you have to drive to area designated to view it... Its beautiful.

We went during the week to avoid the tourists. While there was a short wait, we did do the tour that takes you down to the bottom of the dam into the generator area. Very interesting to watch the short movie at the beginning of the tour. So much history and amazing feats these men had to work though. The view is amazing. Sad that Las Vegas is growing so rapidly that it is depleting the water of Lake Mead. Still an amazing structure though.

We visited the Dam, but could not take the tour as it was closed due to an elevator that was broken down. We did see the film telling about the construction, which took 3 years. Today it would take 10 years just to get the paperwork ready. Awesome thing to see!
