“Remarkable Off the Strip Hotel”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

Pros:
Booked two nights with a $20 per night double room. As we were on a road trip, this was a great offer and got a clean, comfy and big room. Bathroom was big, clean with a little window that helps with the steam if you need a really hot shower.
Plenty of restaurants in the first floor, but if you are on a budget just a block away, besides Walgreens there's a lot off fast foods (Quizno's, Wings Stop, Denny's, Pizza and Mexican)
If you do not want to drive to the Strip, just get the shuttle but be aware for service hours.
Do not worry about your safety, there's plenty of security specially around the elevetors area.
Check in and out are really quick.

Cons:
You have to deal with the cigarette smoke in the lobby.
Had to walk a lot between roofed parking lot and the hotel area.
Wi Fi near the Casino it's a nightmare for asthmatics.

Overall, The Orleans is a good place to stay at Vegas if you prefer to be off Strip. We will return.

My boyfriend and I arrived late at night and upon check-in the lady said they had sold out of the room we had booked (a standard king) so they had upgraded us to a 1 bedroom suite for no additional cost. This was a very pleasant surprise and the room was beautiful. I think it had a total of 5 tvs including one in the bathroom. This review could have been 5 stars however the staff really let down this hotel. When we first pulled up the bellman was rude and condescending when my boyfriend asked if they had a cart we could use for the luggage. Not a great first impression. We were told the luggage would be up in the room in 15 minutes, it took closer to 40. When it did arrive (a different guy) he seemed miffed that we didn't tip him more than we did. We gave you a tip, accept it graciously and leave! Anyway, all in all, the room was great, we got a good night's sleep, they just need to train their staff to be more courteous and welcoming.

Room Tip: The 1 bedroom suite was the best

Had not stayed at Orleans for a couple years, but received a comp offer so booked for February, 2012. As usual, the Orleans is a great off-strip casino resort. Check-in was a breeze, room was clean and comfortable, and the casino has a fun assortment of new and old machines. Really enjoyed trying out the "rapid roulette".

Orleans is one of the best bargains in Vegas. They are still running the shuttle from Orleans to Bills (Strip) to Gold Coast so it's really not much of a problem being off-strip. Food options are plentiful and reasonable. The on-site liquor store is a great place to purchase "beverages" for the room as the prices are decent.

One of the things I appreciate most is that Orleans has a security person checking room keys by the guest elevators. I often gamble while my husband is sleeping and I always feel safe returning to the room.

We are two women who stay at The Orleans hotel a few times a year. We have brought friends
here and advised others to stay here as well. We love the large rooms with a coffee maker,
in room safe, iron & ironing board., and a large bathroom The beds are fine and linens are fresh and changed as requested as this is a green hotel, which we really like. It's certainly not neccesary to change sheets every night, and towels are changed as needed also. The housekeeping staff are very efficient.

We also love the fact that there are security guards at the desk of the elevators, and every guest must have a room key I.D. that you show as you enter. There has never been anyone wandering around the halls, which makes it very safe. The same goes for the casino, lots of staff and all are pleasant. The floor waitresses are very efficient, so don't forget to tip them well.

We always rent a car from the airport as we go touring and shopping They have the best valet parking, which is very much appreciated when we come in late or in the summer when it's so hot as the car is in a covered parkade. Again, don't forget to tip well.

There are excellent restaurants here with something for everyone, from Coasta Cantina (very good fish platter consisting of 3 varities of fresh fish, YUM, and $1margaritas) to T.G.I F,'s to the French Market Buffet, which has the best All You Can Eat crab on seafood Friday nights !!! And the price is sooooo reasonable.. And again, the wait staff are so busy but always pleasant and attentive!! This reataurant has very good bread pudding and awesome gelato for dessert. Try the raspberry and/or the mango. WOW.

The Orleans has a free shuttle to the strip, or the Gold Coast., which is adjacent to The Palms and The Rio Hotels. Great value as it's free..

The pool in the summer is wonderful, free towels poolside, lounge chairs, shade for those that want it and a poolside bar with reasonable prices, not like some!. Again, secured so you need your card to enter, and it's right near the elevators so you don't need to go through the entire hotel to get to it.

I think The Orleans has the best Rewards program so remember to sign up for the Be Connected as soon as you get here. Some very good perks as you accumulate points, so make certain to insert your card every time you play as points accumulate quickly and can be used at the Java Coffee shop for a great latte or at the buffet for dinner!
And I can't forget to mention they have monthly slot tournaments with money prizes for the top 100 contensants, for the Be Connected members, Yippee. So much fun, we have entered a few times, and what a reception.. Thank You Orleans.

And for the over 50 crowd on Tuesdays, you get 7x points, and as soon as you accumulate 50 points you get a chance to spin the wheel for bonus points, free slot dollars, movies, or free gifts. They are very good to seniors ( over 50)

And oh yes, 15 minutes of free internet upstairs daily. And free Wi-Fi at The Java Spot all day.

Room Tip: Any smoke free room is good, but poolsid view is nice.
