This property looks good when you drive up & when you enter the lobby, but this is deceiving! The first room we were given was dirty. I'm not sure whether the previous occupants had actually left or not! We were given another room promptly. However the rooms were really outdated. Wallpaper was peeling, the faucet & shower head were two completely different finishes, & the shower head/pressure was so strong that it could rip the skin on an elderly person with thin skin! We only ate there once. That was enough! We went to the buffet. Selection was minimal and not very palatable! We left very disappointed and hungry! The only positive was that we were eating on casino comps and didn't have to pay the $24.95 per person that they charge! The casino was nice, but getting drink service at the slot machines was a challenge. My husband had no problems at the table games. All in all, with all of the Vegas options available, we'll stay elsewhere next time!

Hey...just got back from a couple nights in Vegas at the Monte Carlo...this was my first stay there, been to vegas a bunch. I was leary of the Monte Carlo because of some of the reviews, but let me put your mind at ease....Great Price! Great Bedding! & Very nice room...

the bedding, and let's be honest, isn't it all about the sleep? room was fine (bathroom was not "lifestyles of the rich & famous", but ok)....nice tv, very nice location on the strip....but the bed & bedding was off the charts!

my buddy was saying the same thing....the bed was probably the best sleep i have ever had....great, great, great mattress....and 5 star bed linens & duvet...and 3 pillows per bed (different levels of padding so you can choose your level of softness...who does that? most you are lucky to get 2 crappy pillows...AND a tube/roll pillow as well...so 4 per bed???)

after a long hard day, it was a true joy to get in that bed....

the hotel also has a food court next to casino for starbucks, and other stuff....pretty funny, 2 starbucks in the hotel, probably not 50 yards from each other....

anyway, think about it for your next trip....if you value your sleep, this is the place....

OH, the price...we paid $80/night midweek ($100 with resort fees/tax), but we also got 2 free buffets per day (1 each person per day) that we can use at Monte Carlo, MGM or Aria....$40 value....so great deal....lastly, on the location....not bad, but they now have a free tram that runs from monte carlo to bellagio (no walking to main strip corner of bellagio/caesar)...very nice & very convenient....

thx....

For the money, it is hard to beat staying anywhere other than the Monte Carlo Resort in Las Vegas. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool area is like being in a water park. And the location, next to City Center, ny ny, and having the tram to take you to the Belagio, not having to drive or park.....well, you can't beat it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floors, with a strip view

We stayed at the Monte Carlo for 4 nights in September this year. This was our 2nd visit to Las Vegas. The hotel is in a good location on the strip and is great value for money. We stayed in Las Vegas for 9 nights, 4 nights at the Monte Carlo, 3 nights off the strip and the last 2 nights in the Aria. The Monte Carlo is very clean, large rooms and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were great, efficient and rooms cleaned to a high standard. We spent a few days round the pool, the lazy river and wave pool were great. The only downside was that the sunbeds were abit squashed together and there is not much room around the pools. Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel and would stay here again if we go back to Las Vegas as the hotel has a relaxed atmosphere. You can access the Aria next door via a walkway, which in our opinion is one of the best and newest hotels on the strip, it is expensive, but well worth the money (we got a special offer Monday, Tuesday night and got it for a very good price). There is a free monorail which runs from the Monte Carlo up to the Bellagio and stops at the Aria and City Centre, which we used this a few times. We have now visited the majority of hotels on the strip and we consider the Monte Carlo and Aria 2 of the best hotels. The pool areas do get very busy with party people at the weekends, this might not be for everyone, but during the week was fine.

I've stayed at this property in the past and I recently stayed for five days in September. Location is great on the south side of "The Strip". It has easy access to a free tram running to the Belagio. It is close proximity to lots of restaurants & shopping. It has some quick eats on the property like Starbucks, McDonalds, etc... The casino is not as large as others, but it's not too small either. The pool area is very nice with a lazy river and wave pool. However, the wave pool was closed our entire stay and they did not let us know even at check-in. The hotel and rooms were clean. The rooms were not new, but didn't feel dated and we liked the bed. Inside the room, it can be noisy from above, music from the pool and through the door. It is Las Vegas, so I guess you have to expect that a bit.

MGM properties do charge resort fees plus tax which is kind of like forcing people to pay for daily internet connection. That is definitely not consumer friendly and many other resorts do not charge it, so be sure to add that into any comparisons. We also needed a late check-out of one hour which they could not accomodate which was disappointing.

Overall, the Monte Carlo is a good value and I would stay there again. I'd ask about anything you plan to use ahead of time before booking just in case.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool will have loud music during the day if the pool is open. We were on the 30th floor and we could still hear the pool music.
