This place wasn't anything spectacular, but was very nice for the price we paid. The food court was open pretty late, and there is a free tram that connects to Bellagio and Aria which was nice. Beds were comfy, showers were solid, and the room overall was not super snazzy, but well worth giving a shot.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room somewhat close to the elevators...we were pretty far down and the hallways are super long!

Probably the best thing about the Monte Carlo is the layout and location. If you are driving getting to the parking garage is easy and it is in close proximity to check in, you don't have to drag your luggage through the casino as you have to do in other hotels. Rooms were nice size but will need updating in a few years. I do suggest requesting a room that does not have connecting doors as they are not very sound proof and you can hear the people next door as we did at 2 in the morning playing music. The hotel staff responded very quickly and the problem was solved. Tram to the Bellagio is convenient but is a long walk to get to. Tram from Excaliber to Mandlay Bay is close also. The only disappointment was that they did not have the pool available in early March like other motels did.

Room Tip: Request a room that does not have connecting door to adjoining room

A friend and I stayed in a double queen room for a week and we enjoyed this hotel immensely. The room was clean and well appointed, the bathroom dated but clean with good water pressure. The beds were comfy and the view from our room was great :)

The hotel is on the south side of the Strip, within walking distance to the bigger hotels/casinos. The hotel is dated (for Vegas) but one of the nicest smelling on the strip :) Apparently you can buy the scent but I never found it hehe.

There is a small-ish food court and a few other cafes and buffet (which is ok). We availed ourselves of the pools a few times which was a great way to relax, cool off and de- jetlag. There is also free light rail which interconnects Monte Carlo - Bellagio (from memory).

Service was good, although there always seemed to be a wait.

This may not be the flashiest, but it is one of the classiest hotels on the Strip and the staff is over the top helpful and professional. The room was clean and the view terrific! We had a package through Southwest Airlines and it was the perfect choice!

Room Tip: Ask for high up and on the Strip if you can!

I stayed at Monte Carlo in 2008 and my experience was OUTSTANDING. So, I decided to stay here again in August of 2011 and it was not nearly as good. In 2008, we were able to bring water to the pool area and you know it gets to be over 100 degrees every day in the summer. We were also able to bring our own flotation devices for the lazy river. HOWEVER, in 2011, they do not allow hotel patrons to bring in their own drinks OR flotation devices. I wish I would have known that in advance, because I went out of my way to get really awesome floaties for myself and the group, but we were not able to use them. Not to mention the pool area service was much slower in 2011 and the prices for the cabana's have skyrocketed, even though I am a Pearl M Life Member. So, going from bringing your own water, flotation devices and affording a cabana to NONE of that, really is not cool. The hotel accommodations are the same with the exception of the maid carts sticking around much longer throughout the day than 3 years ago. I returned to Vegas shortly after that and stayed at Mandalay Bay and the pool area WILL allow you to bring your own flotation devices and water to the pool. If you are looking to spend a lot of time by the pool, I recommend staying somewhere other than Monte Carlo.

Room Tip: Say in a high floor, the views are great!
