We were jammed to nail down a place to stay and ended up at the Attitash Motel. The accommodation was good, though we noticed a few things that would have made things more convenient, like a table on the deck, and a sink at the coffee maker/fridge area. A very important thing for people to realize is that the pools/hot tubs et al is 1/2 mile down the road at Attitash Village. This wasn't clear to us when we booked. Having said that, it was a very nice pool, but after a long day with our child, having a pool a few steps away would have been nice.

Room Tip: Second floor has better views

The 5 * star does not mean it is a 5 * hotel, but because it is excellent in its category and was a good surprise. Next to a road but in the middle of the country, the ideal location for visiting the WhiteMountains, the Kancamagus road , the Flume Gorge ...... Huge parking. Stayed on the first floor, with a balcony and a fabulous view of the foliage. The apartment was great, nice room, nice living room, small dining space, with fridge, microwave toaster, plates, glasses, cutlery paper, coffee, etc. Rustic decor, all very clean, well maintained. Good heating. Extra bed in the living room for two people, that we didn’t use. We highly recommend.

Room Tip: choose a room in the uoper floor

Whilst the White Mountains are predominantly a winter ski/sports destination, we found our fall stay at the Attitash Motel was a real treat after experiencing some disappointing stops during our tour of New England. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the suite was clean and airy and warm, bed comfortable and the bathroom of good size. The location is good for visiting the area attractions and there are eateries up and down the valley roads. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The stairs to the 2nd floor are a struggle with heavy bags, try for a lower level room.

We were pleasantly surprised by this motel. The building and grounds are well maintained and nice to look at. The room we were in faced the forest and was quite quiet with minimal road noise in the bedroom area. We were in room 4, on the second floor. The rooms have a comfortable layout, with the bathroom situated between the bedroom and the living area. There is also a balcony off of the living room with chairs, unfortunately it was too cold to spend any time out there this trip. We stayed for a weekend but the room was well enough appointed to have made a longer stay comfortable enough. The room was clean and fresh smelling, and stocked with plenty of towels both for the bathroom and off-site pool. The kitchenette was stocked with paperware and plasticware. There was a coffee maker provided, and a hotplate in the cupboard (you would need to bring your cookware).
The bed in the bedroom was very firm and new, and there were linens and pillows in the closet with plenty of extra for our use. I feel that it's worth mentioning that the AC/heating unit has a continuous fan feature which is really good white noise for those of us who need such things. I am always excited to discover one of these in a hotel.
In the living area, the couch was fairly new, but the 2 chairs were ancient, sad, and threadbare. We wouldn't use them for fear of breaking them and being billed for the damage. They were really quite disgraceful, and should be removed ASAP. The rest of the furnishings were good. Th pull down bed was comfy and convenient, and very easy to operate.
The service was very good. The front desk personnel were gracious and extremely helpful in answering our questions about where to eat, activities and amenities, and how to access them. The front desk area featured free samples of many toiletries and morning coffee was available with a selection of danish and granola bars to grab and go.
The motel shares amenities with the main hotel which is a short ride down the road. There is an indoor pool, and a couple of hot tubs which we used and enjoyed. I felt it was a good value.
Overall we had a great stay, we will definitely return next year, as the Motel was convenient to many area attractions without being noisy, which is a big plus for us.
