Three of us enjoyed a fabulous meal at Hatteras Sol. We all shared apps of blue cab dip and fried pickled okra. Both were very good. The ladies each had an order of shrimp, scallop fettuccine. It had artichoke hearts, red peppers, kalamata olives, and capers. The dinner looked and tasted wonderful. I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were presented as grit cakes. Great presentation and a terrific dinner. The service was great as always.

I love a good traditional martini. Unfortunately they didn't have onions for a Gibson and had olives. I suggested that if someone wanted a Gibson, substitute the cocktail onion with a picked okra.

A very enjoyable dinner. Hatteras Sol is always my favorite finer dining restaurant on Hatteras Island.

We finally got to have dinner at Hatteras Sol. It did not disappoint. Southern rockafella is a must!! We also had a tuna poke bowl, corn and seafood chowder as well as the Parmesan clams. All was very good and so was the service! We will be back!

Hatteras Sol WG is located in a scenic spot by the dock of the ferry to and from Ocracoke.
Despite its big dining room, the wait is from 30-90 minutes to be seated. Their outdoor waiting area is relaxing with a fabulous view of the sun setting above Pamlico Sound.

My crab cake is superbly toothsome with lump meat!
My Mango A go go cocktail was delicious and reasonably priced.

My husband’s chicken marsala with mashed potato, mixed veggies, mushrooms and pieces of ham was quite good. He normally does not favor saucy dishes and yet he was quite satisfied with his meal.

Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Food did not take ling to be served.

Restaurant might have decent food but on several occasions they weren’t able to service people. Open at five stop serving at 6. Open at 5 stop taking orders at 505.
Not a good way to operate a business.
Or have people wait 3 hours to get served.

Frequent visitors to Hatteras area and had always intended to give Hatteras Sol a try. Finally did this year and wish we hadn't waited so long! Sat at the bar and had crab dip (fabulous!!) and the tuna special with crabmeat on top with some sort of sauce (Just WOW!). I'm not even usually a fan of tuna, and this blew my socks off. Between bites, Hubby said absolutely coming back! Don't know if they take reservations, and there was a long wait at arrival, so the bar was a score. Wish I remembered the waitress at the bar's name, because she was excellent as well. Friendly and very efficient. If you have to wait for a table, you can get drinks at the bar and take them to a deck out back with a lovely view.
